How To Get The Ideal Corpse In Graveyard Keeper

After being dropped into a medieval world of corpses and clerics, you find yourself in charge of a cemetery and church in Graveyard Keeper. There’s a lot to do if you want a chance at getting home, and we’ll walk you through it. To start, you’ll want to perfect the art of an autopsy, which is harder than you’d think.

The ideal corpse requires a knowledge of the decaying body, time management, and overall luck. Below is everything you need to know to get the perfect autopsy and start burning bodies with impurities. Take a look so you can start making progress towards your long journey home.

How To Get More Corpses

There are only two ways to get bodies in the cemetery: you can either exhume bodies already buried on the property or you can wait for the Donkey to bring you a new one, provided that the morgue isn’t currently full.

12 Quickest Ways To Make Money In Graveyard Keeper

In Graveyard Keeper, coin will become vital – here are the best methods for earning as much as you can.

If the cemetery is full, no additional bodies will be delivered. You can either exhume previous bodies and dispose of them to make room for new ones, expand the cemetery grounds, or start cremating bodies instead of burying them.

How To Complete An Autopsy

Once a body arrives at the cemetery, you have a limited amount of time to treat the body for burial. Corpses arrive at 100 percent freshness, and will quickly decay upon exposure to the elements.

Pick up the body and take it inside the morgue. Set it on the preparation place to begin the autopsy. As you unlock more technology, you’ll be able to unlock more parts to remove and ways to slow down decomposition.

The ideal body will have only white skulls, and a lot of them. To get this high score, you’ll need to make very few mistakes, if any–which isn’t entirely up to you. In the base game, the most skulls you can get on a single corpse is 12, but DLC expands this to 16 and 26.

You can add parts back to the body to undo the effect if you accidentally remove something.

Surgeon’s Mistake occurs randomly and is added to the body, though it cannot be removed. This lowers the quality of the body overall.

For every ten percent that a body loses in freshness, a sickly green skull will appear. These bodies cannot be resurrected and will have an overall reduced quality. To stop bodies from decomposing, you’ll either need to place them on a pallet to slow decomposition or use injections to restore or completely halt the decomposition process.

How To Dispose Of A Body

Graveyard Keeper Tossing a body in the river.

There are several ways you can dispose of a body after an autopsy. For starters, you can bury it in the cemetery and decorate the plot to increase the cemetery rating. This is the default method of disposal, but you can eventually unlock cremation to burn the remains into ash on a funeral pyre.

Secondly, you can revive a corpse to work as a servant at the cemetery. Take the corpse to a resurrection table and create a zombie. You won’t get a certificate for this, but you’ll get free labor around the cemetery. This is only available in the Breaking Dead DLC.

Finally, when all else fails, you can just dump the body in the river. This is a quick means of disposal, but it’s a financial loss for you. There’s no certificate to sell, so be sure to take what parts you need from the body before dumping it. This is really only ideal if you botch the autopsy beyond the point of saving.
