Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse has a ton of unique weapons that Rose can find and add to her arsenal, ranging from simple swords to Castlevania’s mainstay demon-slaying whips.
Outside of the Vampire Killer, one of the best weapons in the whole game is a sword-and-shield combo that’s tied to Symphony of the Night’s protagonist, Alucard. Here’s how to get it.
How To Unlock Alucard’s Sword And Shield
Alucard’s Sword and Shield is fittingly located in Alucard’s Tower in the Main Hall, at the top right of the area just above the entrance to the library. The real challenge of finding the powerful weapon is actually reaching the tower, which has a few steps to it. First off, head to the Entrance Corridor’s Mirror of Life, and then get up to the nearby glowing red door by using your whip on the painting.
From here, you’ll need to make your way over to the glowing red door in the Grand Hall. This will involve a lot of platforming challenges and a room where you’ll create a path using switches. Once you’ve gone through that door, head up and then jump and grapple to a hook above you when you see the Alucard portrait with a sword pointing up.
From here, it’s a straight shot to Alucard’s Tower, although you’ll quickly find that you can’t reach the upper level of the room. That’s because Alucard has locked it with five blue flames that need to be destroyed. They’re all found near the path to the tower, and the only tricky one is at the bottom, which can be reached by leaping from the Bridge of Knowledge and then using the Arcane Whip hooks to swing into it.
Once you’ve destroyed all of the flames, head to the top of the tower, interact with the shrine to open the platforms above you, and grab the Legendary Alucard’s Sword and Shield from the wall.
What Alucard’s Sword And Shield Do
As the Legendary weapon of its category, Alucard’s Sword and Shield is unsurprisingly the most powerful of the bunch, and arguably one of the best weapons in the whole game. Beyond having an attack power of 100 and the ability to block hits from the front, it also causes Rose to teleport towards enemies.
Although this can make the pair a little hard to control overall, Alucard’s Sword and Shield is still one of the most unique and damaing weapons in Belmont’s Curse, and one that doesn’t take too much effort to actually get your hands on.
