As you’d expect, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is absolutely stuffed with collectibles, secrets, bosses, items, and much more for the player to spend hours tracking down as they uncover the map.
The highlight of these collectibles is undoubtedly the massive arsenal of 28 weapons, which are spread throughout seven different categories and all have different moves. There’s a lot, so let’s get into it.
How To Find Every Sword
Longsword
You won’t have to do anything to get this basic sword, as it’s the weapon that Rose starts her journey with.
Bastard Sword
To get the Bastard Sword, head to the Justice District Sewers section of Paris Streets, which is down and to the right of the big View of Paris. You’ll need to use Holy Light to get to the chest containing the sword.
Joyeuse
This hard-to-pronounce sword can be unlocked by getting to the Path of the Penitent in Notre Dame. You’ll need to complete a quick platforming challenge that involves hitting a switch, dodging lasers, and then using Smash to reach the chest.
Valmanway
The most powerful sword in Belmont’s Curse, the Valmanway, is unlocked by completing The Judge tarot card. This can be done by visiting the Palace of Justice in the Paris Streets and weighing yourself on the scale once you’ve filled four hearts with health and mana upgrades. This will complete the quest and award you the Valmanway.
How To Find Every Sword And Shield
Rusted Harpe And Aegis
The first Sword and Shield in Belmont’s Curse is unlocked after you defeat The Prophetess early on in the game. The battle against Medusa takes place in the Serpent’s Lair of the Holy Innocents’ Cemetery.
Fleuret And Tower Shield
To find the Fleuret and Tower Shield, head to the Library’s Condemned Shelves area, which is on the right side of the map. Once you reach here, jump on the lower four stars of the planet to create a jump point leading up to a small platforming challenge. Get through that to reach the chest containing the weapon.
Abondight And Lancelot’s Shield
This mighty combo is located in the Tower Entrance area in Notre Dame, which is on the left-hand side of the overall map. To reach the weapon, you’ll need to climb up and find the right angle to smash through the floor to reach the chest.
Alucard’s Sword And Shield
This tribute to one of the best Castlevania characters has a bit more to it than the other weapons, so we’ve got a seperate guide that’ll help you get one of Belmont’s Curse’s most powerful arms.
How To Find Every Spear
Lance
The starting Lance is an early unlock that you can easily find by going to the Fountain of Innocents in the Holy Innocents’ Cemetery. You can grab it from a chest on top of the building, and it’s essential for the boss battle that follows.
Halberd
To unlock the Halberd, head to the Mechanic’s Ascent area of the Clock Tower, which is on the left-hand side of the map. You’ll need to complete a platforming gauntlet to be able to reach the chest.
Gungnir
The Gungnir is located in the Collapsed Path of Orpheus in the Catacombs of Paris area, which can be reached by smashing down from the skull waterfall that’s flowing with blood.
Chauve-Souris
The Legendary spear of Belmont’s Curse is a reward for beating Isaac in the Clock Tower’s Heart of the Clock room, which can be reached by using Death’s Arcana, Soul Harvest, on the cursed clock that leads to the Bad ending and then making your way through the area. After Isaac is defeated, he’ll drop the Chauve-Souris for Rose to pick up.
How To Find Every Cestus
Cestus
You’ll be able to find the Cestus in the Sewer Reservoir area of Paris Streets. It’s an early game unlock, so it’s pretty hard to miss as you start filling out the map.
Jewel Knuckles
The Jewel Knuckles can be found in the Main Hall’s Old Gallery area that’s on the right side of the map. To be able to reach this area and the weapons, you’ll need to clear the platforming gauntlet that’s found by going through one of the glowing red doors in the Main Hall. Once here, follow the path around by hitting switches, and you’ll eventually reach the Old Gallery.
Fists Of Talos
These powerful punchers are unlocked as a reward for defeating The Builder, who can be found by solving a puzzle in the Eastern Access Shaft in the Clock Tower. Once that puzzle is solved and you can reach The Builder, defeat him to unlock the weapon.
Bernhard’s Wrath
The most powerful Cestus in Belmont’s Curse, Bernhard’s Wrath, can be found in the Hall of Mirrors’ Levil Deviled room, which you’ll gain access to as part of The Sage’s Tarot card quest. Late into the area, you can get to a room with the red gloves on display. Interacting with them will cause a group of enemies to spawn and need to be defeated to unlock them.
You’re better off clearing the Hall of Mirrors before trying to find Bernhard’s Wrath, as you won’t be able to see the map until then.
How To Find Every Greatsword
Burnt Sword Of Fierbois
To get this standout early-game weapon, you’ll need to defeat The Warrior, who is located at the very top of the Prison Tower in Paris Streets. Once you’ve defeated her, you’ll get the Fierbois.
Claymore
The Claymore can be found by going through the Path of the First area near the top of the Clock Tower on the upper right side. Once you get here, head through the gauntlet on the right instead of going left to find the chest.
Durandal
This Masterpiece greatsword can be found in the Library’s Curiosity Cabinet area, which is on the right side of the map. Once you reach the room, you’ll need to jump on the right planets to open a path going up. From there, use the jump point to go into a hidden room in the ceiling, which has a simple platforming challenge leading to the chest.
Excalibur
You won’t have to work too hard to track this Legendary weapon down, as it’s a reward for completing The Brittle King Tarot card. Doing that requires heading to Notre Dame’s Chapel room on the right side of the map. Here you’ll see a sword in the stone, which can be pulled out by interacting with it while you have the Fist of Talos equipped. You’ll then need to defeat the Brittle King in a fairly easy boss fight that rewards you with Excalibur.
How To Find Every Twin Sword
Pair Of Longswords
The Pair of Longswords can be found in the Catacombs of Paris, specifically in the Chamber of Whispers area. As you enter that room, look for Death’s green symbol on the wall, and then break the wall on the left. This will create a path to the chest containing the Pair of Longswords.
Rapiers
This pair of swords is one of the most annoying weapons to get in Belmont’s Curse. You’ll find it in the Main Hall’s Watch Tower to the top left of the map. Once you’ve reached here, stick to the left side to see a lever you can pull to activate a gate on the right-hand side. You need to head up and reach the other side before the gate closes.
The timing here is incredibly tight, and you’re actually better off skipping some of the paintings and using the Aerial Dash to shave some seconds off. Once you reach the bottom in time, you’ll reach the chest with the Rapiers.
Almace And Hauteclaire
To unlock Almace and Hauteclaire, you’ll first need to head to the Holy Innocents’ Cemetery and reach the Cemetery Entrance area right near the start of the area. Head left until you reach a tower, and then climb it and use Smash on the platform down below to reach the Flooded Crypt. This opens up a path that eventually leads to Almace and Hauteclaire’s chest on the left side.
War And Famine
The Legendary weapon in the Twin Sword category, War and Famine can be found in Notre Dame’s Great Organ Room. On the left hand side of the room, you can read a plaque that teases that something is hiding under the stairs. That something is War and Famine, which you’ll gain access to by performing a certain melody on the organ. The order of keys you need to jump on is as follows.
- 8, 9, 10, 13, 12, 6, 7, 5, 4, 1
Once you’ve performed that song, the staircase will open up and let you grab War and Famine.
How To Find Every Whip
Whip
While Belmont’s Curse makes you wait a bit before you can wield your first whip, you won’t struggle to find the fittingly named Whip, as it’s an unmissable unlock before you reach Dracula’s Castle. It’s located in the Hall of Fallen Angels in The Catacombs of Paris.
Thorn Whip
The Thorn Whip, which is a noticeable early upgrade, can be found in the Fine Arts Shelves of the Library. You’ll need to complete a tough platforming challenge to reach it, but it’s well worth the effort.
Morning Star
The Morning Star whip can be found by going to the Main Hall’s Wine Cellar and heading through the nearby red glowing door you see. Once you do, head to the left to find one of the most challenging platforming gauntlets that Belmont’s Curse has to offer. Make it all the way to the other side and you’ll be on a path to the chest that’s actually located in the Castle Garden.
Vampire Killer
Since Vampire Killer is the one weapon that literally everyone wants to know about before playing Belmont’s Curse, we’ve got a seperate guide about how to unlock it.
