I feel like Honkai Star Rail throws a lot at you between its chaotic intro and the expansive universe presented within the first few hours. And it’s easy to overlook things. One of the stranger aspects you’ll come across is Memory Bubbles. These particular items seem like they can’t be interacted with at first, but I can tell you that’s not the case. Here’s how to use Memory Bubbles in Honkai Star Rail.
Honkai Star Rail Memory Bubbles Explained
Memory Bubbles appear as blue floating orbs within the Herta Space Station. They can be found as early as The Voyage Continues Trailblaze Mission that sees you leave the station, although they didn’t appear for me until I completed a few Adventure Missions (side quests).
If you’ve heard about these bubbles but can’t seem to find them, I suggest completing the Simulated Universe: Second Closed Beta and then the multi-part Road to Revival Adventure Missions. They should start popping up after those have been taken care of.
How to Use Memory Bubbles

Your first interaction with a Memory Bubble will result in a message saying that nothing’s happened and that you should ask someone for information about them. That’s not much of a hint, but there’s only one entity on the ship who seems to know more than anyone else — and that’s Herta.
Not all of Herta’s puppets provide the same dialogue, but at least a couple will speak about the Bubbles after you’ve interacted with one. One puppet that’s conveniently close to a Memory Bubble can be found in the Master Control Zone, just left of the Central Passage Space Anchor.
The above image shows where on the map the bubble can be found, while the Herta puppet will be found at the top of the nearby stairs.

Talk with her, and she’ll make you sign an agreement before explaining that the Memory Bubbles work similarly to Light Cones and hold memories inside.
After this dialogue, you’ll be able to walk and interact with any Memory Bubbles you see. Each presents a different memory that is presented with a blank screen and text dialogue. Make it through to the end, and you’ll receive 1000 credits.
