One of the many new items added to Fortnite Override is the Tetris Rift, which provides you with a one-use healing item that might not work the way you think it would. The Tetris Rift deploys a line of Tetris blocks that will auto-complete to provide anyone nearby with health and shields, so if you’re using it from further away (or as cover), you’re not going to see much benefit. We’ll share how to get the Tetris Rift and how to use it effectively below.
How to Get Tetris Rifts (& How They Work) in Fortnite
The Tetris Rift can be acquired from the Hush boss or from chests, and is a single-use healing item. When thrown, Tetris blocks will appear and start to build up a solid wall, and when the wall completes (usually after 8 seconds), the blocks will disappear, and everyone within a 2-meter radius will instantly have their health and shields restored, but the amount varies, so make sure you’re standing close to the wall or it won’t work!
The remaining Tetris blocks can be used as cover, as they each have over 200 health. However, these Tetris blocks can be destroyed for even more health, so if you’re ever in a tight spot, deploy the Tetris blocks for cover, and when an enemy breaks them (or you do), you will be rewarded with free health and shield!
The healing from the Tetris blocks is decent, but anyone in the area will benefit from your heals, so it’s not the best idea to deploy it if you’re in the middle of a close-range battle, unless you want the extra cover in Zero Builds.
