Being a construct puppeted by the master sword, this would actually be Fi, not the soul of the hero
Wish the writers went in that direction, we haven't seen Fi in so long and it's not like making Fis gameplay similar to Link would be weird, she's literally the master sword so she's have a near identical fighting style to link
It's not really a Link, it's more like the Hero's Spirit, which is why it looks like him, the Master Sword is using their combat experiences. The Master Sword is a living weapon and can act on its own, it's just now in a mobile body.
I KNEW those Master Sword sounds at the beginning weren't nothing! Makes me glad I immediately guessed the construct was powered by a shard of the Master Sword. I'm guessing it also sort of explains how Zelda sorta transports the Master Sword to her time.
The dialog in these games is so..BORING

@Sirloin I'm curious why you are calling this construct "Link". Is it because
(a) the game calls him that eventually?
(b) it's a nice shorthand?
(c) you like to think of it as "Link"?

Sooo basically you can’t have Zelda without Link no matter what
Without getting caught up with technicalities, There is something very wholesome about this, that link somehow without even thinking managed to transpose himself to the past to watch over Zelda.
So this construct is the byproduct of the master sword and link's lost health ( his sword hand )….cool
If it's a shard of the Master Sword then it's a construct of Fi, not Link.

This is the first time I've ever heard a Korok actually speak! And I was not found wanting. And I can't believe a shard of the master sword woke up this construct.
3:20 Zelda speaks, but all i ever think of is her speaking of how peace is a false hope. It is a lie spoken by leaders who have lost the will to fight.

For those who are going to say the construct is not a he but a she AKA fi well the answer is no fi is not the construct the master sword fragment is powering the construct here's my opinion the fragment of the master sword turned the construct into a copy of link is almost like a reference to four swords where the four sword created 3 clones of toon link so yeah fi as the construct doesn't make a lot of sense because the construct is acting more like link instead of fi and he was also able to copy link's voice when he did that last attack against the corrupted construct so yeah fi is not the construct the construct is a copy of link created by the fragment of the master sword so please don't try to convince me that fi is the construct i don't want to be a part of a theory war of the zelda fandom heck now there's another theory war about this korok AKA is calamo the deku tree or the ancient tree stump yeah the zelda timeline is confusing as heck I'm starting to believe that the botw saga is another zelda universe and not part of the classic zelda timeline because the rito and the korok only exist in the future timeline and the master sword is in the old hyrule and not in the new hyrule

LinkFi.Of course they would inject link to the story somehow but it disappoints me so much because in tears of the kingdom you can get that mask of the ancient hero reward that supposedly turns you into the zonai hero of the past. Why didnt nintendo use him? Instead they go with a stupid construct thing.
