I'm so on board with you regarding the magic of the ps portal and the switch looking like a retro console. I prefer playing certain types of games handheld and the ps portal has been SO AMAZING for doing that. going back to the switch is like… what's this, why am I not playing on the portal!?
I got a steam deck last year (It was on a sale in Elko, the Icelandic counterpart of Elkjøp) and for the longest part I regretted buying it. It's not a console I'd like traveling with because it feels way too bulky. when traveling, I choose and use the switch (lite). the steam deck is also not as comfortable to hold as the ps portal. also, I (personally) prefer a gaming experience where I don't have to think about configuring the console, map buttons, set the aspect ration or frame rates etc. essentially, I like to just hit the play button and play the game.
when choosing which console to play, the steam deck is currently my fifth option/selection. ps5 comes first, then ps portal, then switch lite, then switch (oled), then steam deck and finally pc
I'm only learning now to appreciate the steam deck. I'm currently playing trains in the sky which I would otherwise be playing on a pc (steam).
I am so excited for both games! Love the look of both! It has been confirmed that the Switch 2 will have backwards compatibility so I'm hoping that both games will play better on the new console.

You are seeing Switch gameplay, keep in mind the Switch 2 will be out and can play the game on that too.
Rune Factory 6 is the one I'm looking forward to most out of the ones you mentioned. However, Dragon Quest 1&2 HD-2D remake is my most anticipated game (games) this year. Pokemon Legends Z-A looks awesome too.
I'm waiting for Switch 2 to come out before buying any game for now. 😊
It's going to be my first atelier game because its coming to Xbox as well. Very excited for it and that's because I know this gameseries thanks to your videos but have never played one of them.
As a Steam Deck owner, I would wait for the Switch 2. The Steam deck battery life isn't great so I'm always plugged into the wall (I get an hour and a half playing Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth). Because of this I mostly play my steam deck docked playing on the TV lol

what if you had someone from the us buy it and send to you? steam decks are $550 and the rog ally z1 extreme is $450 (just put steam os on it). not sure about the conversion rate though.

I decided to get a Steamdeck Oled instead of waiting for Switch 2. I got it secondhand but in pristine condition for a lot less, lucky me. Animal Crossing is the only must-get title from Nintendo these days, and thats not worth an entire console purchase. Besides, Steam is booming on cozy games these days and I like to be able to play them day one. AND- the Steamdeck is moddable, something Nintendo will never allow. Nintendo has outdated itself, I think.
I am so so excited for Yumia next month! It’s probably one of my most anticipated game of 2025, aside from Azuma. You got me into the Atelier series two years back and currently I have finished 12 Atelier games 🤭 I still have yet to play Sophie 2 though but I think I’ll play that before Yumia releases. Absolutely excited to hear your review of it when it drops!
(Also I’m really hype for the other Atelier game – Red Alchemist or something?? I never played Resna but I really loved the look of the world)
Monster Hunter Wilds on the Steam Deck makes the OG Nintendo Switch look like a powerhouse. Valve will need something new pretty soon.
Rune Factory's combat looks very fun, i'll get it after i'm done with Lost Soul Aside
Atelier Yuma looks like a good step up in the series, we get better and better atelier games, bigger and more complex. As you say, thanks to Ryza.
