It'll be interesting to watch Nintendo this year. Regardless of its supposed sales, I think it's in trouble on top of what's mentioned here.
Bundling this with your console mentions, it wouldn't surprise me if gaming in general is going through a shift. Price matters and when you couple 80 dollar games with more and more people not being able to afford something they don't want to put a chance into, it'll pretty much be an industry crash across the board.

So don’t forget to bitch about UE 5 that is a key feature in taking Indy to the next level. Ever notice the credits for expedition 33? Lots of consulting studios. You can’t do that without engine knowledge.
I’ve wasted soooo much money and time over the past 5 years believing in AAA games that ended up being half baked disappointments that i (as i assume many others have also) come to the conclusion by force that i can no longer afford to give them any benefit of the doubt. That had all been viciously stripped away from me and replaced with a ball of anger.

Its not a indie company, but Atlus games (Persona series) impresses me way more nowadays, than the super realistic games. I just love their art style.

It's not just the Indies. The Chinese, the Japanese, and the Koreans are making video games on a tight budget to create a fun experience for us. Capcom is making hit after hit, SEGA has revived Sonic and is trying to bring back its other IPs, Konami is changing course and is trying to build back trust with Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill, and recently, Square Enix is making big changes to focus more effort on quality games. So as far as I'm concerned, we're in good hands with the Indies, AA Gaming, and Asian-produced games.
