Check out this new gameplay reveal from the upcoming Into the Fire developed in Unreal Engine 5. This work in progress beta playtest footage has been edited by us and provided by Starward Industries. This new title is a high-stakes, first-person tactical extraction shooter set in a gritty, post-conflict environment. It focuses on realism, survival, and intense combat where every decision counts. It features the graphics style from The Invincible. It appeals to fans of games like Escape from Tarkov or Arc Raiders, offering a hardcore experience for players who enjoy military simulation and the constant threat of losing their progress. If Arc Raiders is about “Tactical Looting against Machines,” then Into the Fire is “Tactical Survival against an Apocalypse.” Itβs a bit slower, more punishing, and focuses heavily on the heat and fire mechanics.
*_Description:_*
You are a bold explorer struggling to survive during a volcanic eruption on Danteβs Archipelago. With the world collapsing around you, you must rescue as many lives as possible through lava and ash. Navigate crumbling landscapes, outrun firestorms, and unearth secrets buried deep in the volcanic abyss – facing its demons and an onslaught of ever-shifting threats and strange anomalies that fuel the chaos.
*_Gameplay Features:_*
– The Loop: Players (as mercenaries or scavengers) enter a dangerous zone, complete objectives, gather valuable loot, and must reach an extraction point to keep what they’ve found. If you die before extracting, you lose everything you brought with you.
– Tactical Realism: The game emphasizes slow, methodical movement over “run-and-gun” action. It features realistic weapon handling, ballistics, and a detailed health system.
– PvPvE Elements: You aren’t just fighting other human players; the map is populated with hostile AI factions that protect high-tier loot and objectives.
– Deep Customization: Players can modify their weapons with various attachments and manage their “Hideout” or base between missions to upgrade gear and healing capabilities.
– Immersive Atmosphere: The game uses advanced lighting and sound design to create a tense, stressful environment where sound is often your best tool for survival.
– Risk vs. Reward: The central tension of the game is deciding when to leave. Do you push for one more piece of loot, or do you head to extraction before someone intercepts you?

I just read the description. Did you write this with ChatGPT or why does it feel so wrong?! You could argue with a bit fantasy about the rest but this is definitely not a first person game.
It's not really the niche what I would play but it looks fun.
Needs to be able to do co-op, have base building, upgrades, perks, skills sets, all that. I see real potential in this game and the devs should really going all in on this one
a game about saving morons
