Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment may have only just yesterday debuted on Switch 2, but the team is already thinking about what is next for Zelda and co.
The official Zelda Musou social media account has revealed that two updates are in the works for the game. These updates will be free, it said, and allow fans to “enjoy Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment for even longer”.
There is currently no indication of when we can expect these updates to arrive, or what they will actually include. A new fighter or two to expand the roster seems more than likely, though. Any thoughts on who?
Age of Imprisonment is set before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and is the latest crossover with Koei Tecmo’s Warriors franchise. Previous Zelda crossovers include Hyrule Warriors (no extra flourish unless you count the enhanced ports Legends and Definitive Edition) and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which served as a spin-off of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Our Alex has already taken Age of Imprisonment out for a spin, calling it Warriors’ “richest offering yet”.

Elsewhere in Zelda news, the live-action film adaptation is now in production with filming taking place in New Zealand. The film is currently slated for a release in 2027.
