During a recent livestream hosted by CD Projekt Red, Pondsmith responded to Reeves’ earlier remarks about wanting to reprise his role, saying that he has “ways” to make the character’s return possible.
Pondsmith remarked, ”Not that long ago, I saw that Keanu would like to find a way to come back from the dead and play Johnny again.” The creator added, “I have ways to do that, Keanu, contact me.” His statement has since sparked speculation among fans about how Silverhand could reappear in the Cyberpunk universe. However, he did not reveal any further details.
Reeves has previously voiced his willingness to return. While promoting his film Good Fortune, the actor told IGN that he would “absolutely” like to step back into Johnny Silverhand’s role. The actor said, “I’d love to play Johnny Silverhand again.” The actor’s statement along with Pondsmith’s comments have stirred excitement about a potential reunion between the two. However, as of now, no official announcements have been made by CD Projekt Red.
Previously at Digital Dragons 2025, Pondsmith shared an update on Project Orion, the upcoming sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
