This article contains spoilers for Naruto’s Final Arc.
The Naruto series saw the rise and fall of all sorts of powerful ninjas across different eras, and while of them were simply forgotten, others had their names etched into history for what they achieved during their lifetime. Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage of Konoha, is one such individual, and fans know very well that his overall power was absolutely immense in the story.
During the flashback, fans saw a glimpse of what he could achieve on the battlefield, and later on, after his return in the Fourth Great Ninja War, another demonstration of his majestic strength was given to the fans. Yet, Hashirama wasn’t the strongest shinobi at all. In fact, he wasn’t even close to being that as many others surpassed him in the Fourth Great Ninja War.
Hashirama Was Labeled the God Of Shinobi
Hashirama And Hiruzen Are Two Gods of Shinobi
There are only a few ninjas in the world of Naruto who have attained the title of a God, and Hashirama Senju is certainly one of them. He is known to have been the God of Shinobi, and is revered as such in the Naruto world. Along with him, the Third Hokage of Konoha, Hiruzen Sarutobi was also known as the God of Shinobi.
I want to create a place where children don’t have to die on the battlefield in vain anymore and where peace prevails. — Hashirama Senju
Hashirama, in particular, was known to be exceptionally powerful. Given that he was the reincarnation of Asura Otsutsuki, Hashirama possessed great vitality, and with all the training he did during the Warring States Era, it is no wonder that he got as strong as he did.
Hashirama was one of the only users of Wood Release in the story. If his Jutsu wasn’t problematic by itself, then the fact that he was a user of Sage Mode only made things more complicated for his enemies. Hashirama was unstoppable at his best, and a match for Madara Uchiha. At his best, he even got rid of Madara Uchiha in the Valley of the End.
All The Six Paths Power Users Surpassed Hashirama Senju
- Naruto, Sasuke, The Ten Tails Jinchuriki Rank Above
- Those With Otsutsuki Powers Are Also Stronger
As fans know already, Hashirama Senju was a monster in combat. However, he wasn’t the strongest ninja in Naruto. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, the fans got to see many mighty Shinobi, some of whom went on to surpass even the likes of Hashirama Senju.
In all the world, I am the strongest there is now. Immortality, reincarnation, with the Rinnegan, I have a lot of options! — Sasuke Uchiha
The first one that fans saw surpass Hashirama was Obito Uchiha, moments after he became the 10 Tails Jinchuriki. His power level was on a. completely different plane. Just like him, Madara Uchiha also surpassed Hashirama here. But, more importantly, Naruto finally pulled ahead of him, as did Sasuke Uchiha, as they both got access to Six Paths powers.
Along with them, anyone with Otsutsuki power, such as Hagoromo, Kaguya, Hamura, and all the others were automatically above Hashirama Senju.
Might Guy Also Surpassed Hashirama Senju
Most curiously, however, Might Guy, a rather regular ninja, went on to surpass Hashirama as well, as he reached a level where he could brutally injure Six Paths Madara. Fans know that he went on to reach incredible levels of power, and thanks to Naruto, even after surpassing all limits and risking his life with the Gate of Death, he managed to survive. Hashirama Senju was certainly surpassed by many throughout the run of Naruto, and in Boruto, a bunch more characters have risen way beyond his level.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s next chapter is set for its official release on September 19, 2025. The release time of the chapter is 10 AM EST/ 3 PM UTC. As always, fans can read the chapter officially for free on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
