Kobold Press’ most recent crowdfunding campaign is shaping up to be a bona fide success. Their recent Northlands Kickstarter is set to bring some Viking-themed adventure full of gods and giants to the most recent edition of Dungeons & Dragons.
The Northlands Kickstarter Campaign
According to the campaign page, the Northlands Kickstarter provides adventures to the latest edition of Dungeons & Dragons full of looting, runes, and horrific monsters themed around the Saga of Ragnarok. The project is for two books. The Northlands Worldbook is packed with new monsters, magic items, and player options. The Northlands Sagas book contains 11 prewritten adventures.
There will be two versions of the Northlands Worldbook available. One is designed for Dungeons & Dragons 2024. The other is designed for Kobold Press’ own 5e-inspired heroic fantasy TTRPG, Tales of the Valiant. The campaign also confirms that Northlands will be coing to various VTT platforms including Roll20, Foundry, and Shard.
In addition, all material in the Northlands Kickstarter books will be coming to D&D Beyond. An apt form of forward-thinking since other third-party books like Grim Hollow, Crooked Moon, and Flee Mortals!.
The pledge tiers for the Northlands Kickstarter are as follows:
- Northlands Worldbook PDF for $29: A digital copy of the Worldbook for either D&D 2024 or Tales of the Valiant
- All PDFs for $39: Digital copies of both the Worldbook and Sagas for either D&D 2024 or Tales of the Valiant
