Lego Officially Reveals Upcoming Rayquaza, Munchlax, And Arcanine Pokemon Sets

Lego released its first-ever Pokemon sets this year, and in the interest of capitalizing on its long overdue partnership with the biggest entertainment IP in the world, there are already a lot more new sets on the way. Not just the already-revealed Smart Brick sets, but three additional, more substantial sets that have now been officially revealed.

Lego Rayquaza, Arcanine, And Munchlax Revealed

Those sets will be released on the same day as the previously revealed Smart Brick options, and their stars are Arcanine, Rayquaza, and Munchlax. All three are traditional Lego sets for building and display purposes only. No interactive elements, and presumably no hidden Smart Brick compatibility, even if you happen to have one handy.

The three new sets don’t appear to have been added to Lego’s website just yet, but now that official reveals have been made, it’s only a matter of time, potentially even within the next few hours. Once the sets are up on the site, you should be able to start placing pre-orders. Especially as they will all be released on August 1, 2026, the same day as the aforementioned Smart Brick sets.

Even though you can’t place pre-orders just yet, we do know how much each of the new sets is going to cost and what their respective piece counts will be. Rayquaza will be the largest, and therefore most expensive, of the incoming Lego trio. On the bright side, even the legendary Gen 3 dragon doesn’t come close to costing as much as the $650 Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise set that kicked off Lego’s Pokemon proceedings.

Prices And Piece Counts

The Rayquaza set, which puts the Dragon/Flying-type atop a tower surrounded by clouds, is made up of 1,083 pieces and costs $129.99.

Even though the Arcanine set is slightly bigger at 1,190 pieces, it will cost quite a bit less at $99.99. The smallest set of the three is Munchlax, complete with tree stump and Lego apple cores, at 757 pieces and $79.99, so a little bit more expensive than the previously released Eevee set.

  • Rayquza/1,083 pieces/$129.99
  • Arcanine/1,190 pieces/$99.99
  • Munchlax/757 pieces/$79.99

August 1 is going to be a very busy day for Pokemon Lego, as that’s now 15 sets all releasing on the same day, not including the Ditto Squirtle gift you get for buying a certain amount of the Lego Smart Brick sets. Although the Smart Brick sets are cheaper and aimed at younger Lego fans, they have been criticized for not including a Smart Brick as standard. Even though all 12 sets have Smart Brick functionality, only the two more expensive options include the Smart Brick as standard.
