NMS and LNF. ❤
Buy ya next console alone, and you will be set up for decades of gaming.

LNF will come when its ready. Relax. Never rush cooking.

No news :c

At least they are taking their time with it. Would rather devs do that than release garbage and flop the game lol

A game that grabs my attention the way Light no Fire has, only happens rarely. I am patiently waitiing, and hoping. I doubt we will hear anything at the games awards but will be happy if they announce something. Very happy.

Listen yall I’m just hoping they drop an in game Time Machine/Magic Portal and when you come out you’re in NMS and somewhere in NMS a black whole drops you back in Time in LNF.
The next is gonna be the rerun of LMFAO 🎶

Didn't Sean say that they've been working on the game for 5 years when the first trailer released? That was 2 years ago. I have a feeling he's just playing it down, because he wants to tweet out "you can now play LNF" when we least expect it.

People are really underestimating how much a small team can do. So much gets bogged down by having too many cooks in the kitchen, it's part of why so many huge dev teams have been struggling while small indies have been thriving.

2026 is NMS 10 year anniversary. So I'd imagine  it'll be a big year for that.
We hopefully will hear more about Light No Fire by the end of next year and a possible release window in 2027 at the earliest…..
But that's just my two cents.

a shadow drop is coming!!

They have to do it well. Players are less forgiving with $70 games with live-service elements in many. Also, No Man's Sky was such a wreck and lie with what Murray said. It's wonderful Hello Games fixed and improved NMS so much, yet I won't accept another NMS launch. Sure I'm not alone.

Anyone think Hello Games and Keen games are sorta working together? Enshrouded is a Voxel Based game and some of the art work looks similar to NMS / LNF fonts.. take a look ..

Favatar

They can't really afford to release it early, can they?

Favatar

Wait for the final patch for NMS, then it all makes sense

I am much for of a fantasy fan and there aren't any crafting survival games that let you play elves.. so I have been very patiently waiting for this game.. it's getting a little disappointing at this point. If they were very early into the development, they should not have showed what looked like a launch trailer with full on gameplay.

If nothing is released at game awards, it doesn’t mean anything… with No Man’s Sky the sold us golf and gave us tin… this time they are doing the opposite

Hello Games definitely earned a lot of goodwill by turning NMS around, but you’re right: no news is usually bad news in the gaming industry. When a studio goes this quiet after a big reveal, it often signals internal delays, shifting priorities, or other changes in scope they’re not ready to talk about just yet. The fact that it's been nearly two years and we still haven’t seen any follow-up footage or updates to the official website really does feel ominous, especially if they were originally targeting a 2025 or 2026 release. A shadow drop would be exciting—but I'm not holding my breath by any means.
The other thing is, if Sean Murray is seeing the community hype ballooning again—people calling it “No Man’s Skyrim”, expecting a living, breathing fantasy world on an Earth-sized scale—then yeah, that’s a recipe for déjà vu. He might know internally that the game just isn’t close to delivering that yet, and rather than feeding the hype, he’s focusing on continued updates for NMS until the LNF team have something solid to show.
It’s a shame, because LNF has such a compelling premise—and my ideal game is SO close to what it could end up being. But until they show us something more tangible, I think it's best to assume it’s still years out and manage expectations accordingly…

"No Man' Sky", which is kind of a beta test for LNF (lasting for ages now), is still so damn buggy (and totally senseless) that I do not expect a functioning LNF before 2028. LNF will be quite more complex regarding interactivity with environment AND other players, the generation of the planet will be a massive contest programming-wise, which is massivley buggy in NMS still. The idea travling oceans (for which the corvettes in NMS existed) needs a year of work before you can call it finished, and multiplayer is one single huge bug.

Maybe there is a trailer coming, and there will be trailers coming for the next two or three years. After 300 hours in NMS I will never tuch a game from hello games anymore 🙂

I always had this crazy theory that Light No Fire is actually a No Man's Sky massive update, that is already live, the planet is out there to find, we just haven't found it yet. Once you find it you land, lose your ship and are stuck on this fantasy world inside of NMS.

Would be bonkers.

I’m hoping that a tiny team indicates that they’re almost done and this team is just doing essentially finishing touches

Hello Games does things on their terms, which can be a detriment to viewers who are used to the traditional PR campaigns with marketing jargon, and the inevitable entitlement gained from the advent of social media. This kind of approach from them is refreshing, imho. They're not out to find ways to support themselves with "Early Access" (I am personally tired of this 'unfinished but pay for it anyway' method) but are only releasing when they know it's in a good state. They are also publishing other games, like Stage Fright, which was announced at last year's TGA. I like how they don't necessarily need to "listen to their community" in order to make the game. That's what's been saturating the industry too much these years. It's been missing a lot of complete games with someone's ideas and thoughts crafted into a world that I'm supposed to roll with; the complete experience! If I don't vibe with the game, I move on. But catering to the "community" of any game too much is the downfall of the very vision the game is meant to have from its Director. Hideo Kojima is a great example of this. He's not worried about what will sell, he just wants to tell stories. That's his big vision. Imagine if he had an Early Access for Death Stranding 2 and wanted to incorporate ideas that fans thought should be in the game. It wouldn't be his vision anymore.

A new trailer for sure by end of year. Probably announcing the year, no date. Best case is they shadow drop it during the holidays. Shadow drops are the best.

Didn't really play NMS, but I am pretty anxiously looking forward to hearing more about Light No Fire, it looks amazing. Thanks for the video, God bless🙂

A new trailer isn't out of the question but it seems like Hello Games are still a very long way out from a release date. We just gotta let them do their thing.
The engine developments are visible and tangible to us in the NMS updates so it's not like they're lazing about. Guess we'll have to wait for our dragons and fly other things like space ships and worms in the meantime 🙂

It strikes me that Hello Games have been developing their technology more than "the game" per se. I think Murray saying the team is tiny is a misdirection – maybe the LNF design team is a highly concentrated small team doing great things right now in the world building phase but the tech for LNF is clearlyt being developed by the NMS team simultaneously. I think they're just learning from the past and downplaying expectations so they can launch with something at NMS' current quality level. At least, that's what I hope.

Favatar

Yeah….not sure why you're surprised we say no. If ur mom tells you shes taking you out for dinner, at some point and she doesnt give you a date, or time and furthermore, its been a year or more AND she still has made NO mention of dinner…are you seriously telling us you hope she magically will buy you dinner out of the blue before the end of the year?

I realize that this analogy is a bit weird and childish but so is your expectation of an award appearance for a game that hasnt mentioned anything.

Favatar

My guess is 2026 is when news will start coming out more about LNF and then release in 2027
