RGG Studio (Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio) has established a strong reputation over the past couple generations for its consistent and high-quality output – in particular when it comes to the Like a Dragon (Yakuza) franchise. As they have done many times now, the studio has announced that they will be hosting an RGG Summit next month; giving us a look at what’s next for the team.
At the tail-end of their most recent RGG TV livestream, the team at Ryu Ga Gotoku announced that they will be hosting their next RGG Summit in just over a month’s time on the 24th of September at 12pm JST.
For the uninitiated, the studio’s RGG Summits function as an extended Nintendo Direct-styled digital presentation of sorts, in which the team offers a look at new and upcoming games currently in the works. Last year’s Summit included the official announcement of ‘Like a Dragon: Yakuza Pirate in Hawaii’ as part of a lengthy gameplay demonstration.
While the team have not yet teased what’s in store for this year’s Summit, RGG as a studio is currently working on a new untitled entry in the long-running Virtua Fighter series alongside the brand new IP Stranger Than Heaven – which takes many cues from the Like a Dragon series while adding its own unique elements.
Regardless of what’s in store, RGG Studio seems to have a lot to talk about, with the Summit said to be immediately followed up by an ‘RGG Direct’ offering an even deeper look at the announcements after their unveiling.
