Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Has Beetle DLC Voice Lines Leak Online

By this point, it’s been made abundantly clear that, unlike the first Marvel’s Spider-Man, which had three pieces of post-launch DLC, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would have zero DLC packs, extra suits notwithstanding. That much was confirmed by Insomniac Games on the game’s one-year anniversary, leaving fans saddened.

However, that doesn’t mean that DLC wasn’t part of the plans, because it actually was, and it would’ve involved the Beetle. Way back in April 2024, concept art of The Beetle was leaked online, along with details that it would’ve been Janet Lincoln, the daughter of Lonnie Lincoln, AKA Tombstone.

Unfortunately, that DLC was canceled, but via a new leak, we now know that things were awfully close to being realized.

Any Sort Of Post-Launch DLC For Spider-Man 2 Would’ve Been Great

As first spotted on Reddit’s r/GamingLeaksAndRumours sub, nearly two-minutes of voice lines from Nadji Jeter, who plays Miles Morales, were shared online, all revolving around The Beetle.

The person who discovered the lines also alleges that there could be some Peter Parker voiceovers somewhere, though they couldn’t find it.

Now, while the DLC was canceled for release, it’s not like it can’t be added to Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. After all, each of the Spider-Man games has made use of an introductory villain to help set the scene and reacquaint players with the controls, and seeing as Kingpin, Rhino and Sandman have all been used, The Beetle would likely fit right in.

It probably won’t make fans of Spider-Man 2 any less upset about the prospect of support being cut short. But if it’s any consolation, it was similarly reported that the leaked Venom spin-off title is still in development and that Eddie Brock would be stepping in as the host.
