Mega Latios is a Dragon and Psychic type Mega Legendary Raid boss. Optimal raid counters will be Ice, Bug, Dark, Ghost, Fairy and Dragon.
Depending on your levels and counters, we would recommend we would recommend 6 – 8 trainers who are high level, and more if you don’t have optimal teams. These are Tier 6 raids, with a raid boss CP of 84000, so being prepared is essential. Make sure you have the right counters with the right moves, and be organised with your Mega evolutions.

Mega Latios Counters
Since Shadow Pokémon are extremely expensive to power up and require specific events to remove Frustration with a Charge TM, they will NOT be listed as raid counters in this article. That being said, if you have the shadow form of a listed raid counter Pokémon powered up and TMed, use it.

With Mega Latios it will be key to take into account what moveset it has, as Dragon type moves are going to hit your Dragon counters hard. Take a look at what appears in your recommended Pokémon when you first join the raid. If no dragons feature, the Mega Latios likely has Dragon type moves, so adjust your squad accordingly.

How to Get Mega Latios
You cannot catch Latios in its mega evolved form from the raid. The mega raid boss is always catchable in its base form and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Latios.
Latios can be caught with the following CP values:
- 2090– 2178 CP no weather boost
- 2613– 2723 CP boosted by Windy weather boost
In order to get Mega Latios you will need 300 Mega Energy for the initial evolution. Once you Mega Evolve a Pokémon for the first time, Mega Energy will no longer be required for that specific Pokémon to Mega Evolve again. Instead, the Pokémon will become exhausted after its Mega Evolution and need to rest before being Mega Evolved again. In other words, there is now a cooldown period after you Mega Evolve a Pokémon. You can level up your Mega Pokémon in order to decrease this cooldown period.
