Microsoft introduces compact Xbox Nano controller launching this November

Microsoft has announced the Xbox Nano Controller, an ultra‑compact gamepad for Xbox consoles and PC. Measuring about 13cm long and weighing around 100g, the controller is lighter and shorter than most modern smartphones while still including all 18 standard inputs.

Microsoft says the Xbox Nano Controller is designed for smaller hands and portable use. It includes a built‑in rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button, which can be customised for shortcuts such as capturing clips or taking screenshots. It connects via Xbox Wireless or Bluetooth across supported devices.

Pre‑orders are now open ahead of an official launch this November across multiple regions, including the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Europe, Asia and Latin America. The controller is priced at £44.99/$49.99/€49.99.

Microsoft is also partnering with Samsung and Meta for US‑only holiday promotions, bundling the Xbox Nano Controller with two months of Game Pass Ultimate for new members who purchase select Samsung TVs or a Meta Quest headset.

KitGuru says: While it is hard to say without a side by side comparison, this doesn’t look far off the profile of a Game Boy Advanced Nano from back in the day.
