Hot on the heels of its launch just last week, the team at Infinity Ward / Activision are already gearing up for the arrival of Modern Warfare 4 Season 1. Officially going live on the 6th of November, S01 will bring with it a not-so-insignificant number of additions.
Seemingly in an effort to get out ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI, Infinity Ward have announced that Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 will officially arrive in just over a week’s time, launching on Friday the 6th of November.
As with pretty much all Call of Duty games nowadays, Season 1 will flesh out MW4 with new additions across the board (though seemingly less so than what was seen with last year’s Black Ops 7). Even so, there will be plenty to look forward to, including but not limited to:
Multiplayer
- 6+ new maps
- Backstab
- Canyon
- Shoot House
- Ministry (S01 Reloaded)
- Overflow (S01 Reloaded)
- “Additional [CLASSIFIED] maps” (S01 Reloaded)
- New modes
- Possession (Available now)
- Infected
- Grind
- Drop Zone
- Gauntlet 1v1
DMZ
- New Location: Designation X01
- New Orders / missions
- Additional Intel
- Player base enhanced with new functionality
- Additional events
General
- 4 new weapons
- Cronen Osprey [AR]
- CSG-35 [SMG]
- JAK 12 [shotgun] (in-Season)
- ZLR Talonhawk [melee] (in-Season)
- New attachments (in-Season)
Of course, Season 1 also brings with it a Battle Pass to grind, new limited time events, purchasable bundles and more.
As mentioned, compared to Black Ops 7’s post-launch support, Season 1 of Modern Warfare 4 does feel somewhat light. That said, given that Grand Theft Auto VI is set to arrive just a few weeks later, it is possible that Infinity Ward are saving some of their bigger updates for future seasons once Rockstar’s juggernaut has cooled down somewhat.
