MK has a history of bold advertisments and incomplete promises, at this point you in particular (regarding your big work on this theme) surely know, you can say even that is a part of its history. Competetive games inherently have a little bit toxic communities. Crying about being a crybaby is the same thing, it creates the content to stir the pot. And the creators play this game of hype, there is nothing wrong about you saying what you want, you're a customer (and fan, but customer first). Anyway, funcional netcode for every single version would be unrealistic and futile goal, shattering the resources, I don't believe these handmade versions are built with advanced networking in mind. Regarding the successful and official emulations of various versions, I understand Dreamcast was already successfully done in the past, but PS2 seems to be pretty challenging to make work, so I presume MK: Gold might be challenging legally (as well as technically perhaps), PS2 era might be really difficult technically. To be fair, I'd love MK:Gold greatly (yes please! I never had Dreamcast, MKG roster is far cooler than MK4 etc…), but the 2D era does the magic for me here (but still MKG would be my 2nd favourite here, after MKT).
I feel bad for dynasty He's had to put on a fake happy face for the last 10 years. God knows that the last two mortal kombats were two of the worst games in mortal Kombat history. After mortal Kombat 9 and mortal Kombat x it went terribly downhill.

remember the original blogpost of MK Legacy Kollection said "What's next? well, Mortal Kombat is all about secrets, so we hope you don't mind if we keep a few of our own for now…" that was said after naming every game in the kollection at the time. it said a FEW secrets meaning that there COULD be more than just mk trilogy being added to the list of games! but of course, nothing is confirmed yet.
Psp games unchained maybe?
I can’t imagine how many people would want to play Gameboy and GBA games frequently online… would probably be near impossible to find matches generally, so for that reason it does feel like a waste of resources.
I think they said the way the data was transferred via link cable is the reason it was hard, so that makes sense to me. I definitely would have played them online to check it out though.
I’m pretty excited to play SNES and Genesis ports online for sure.
