Hopping into Skyrim? Yeah, that's purely a comfort thing too sometimes.
How can they especially say games are dead with a year like 2025? Just the indie games alone this year were wildly incredible, straight up one of the best showings in a long time.
It genuinely seems like far too many people get their primary dopamine hits from anger and hate towards things, rather than focusing on getting those hits from things that bring them joy, so endlessly engage in stirring those feelings up to get their next hit (aided and abetted by algorithms rewarding them for stirring up hate causing them to also have financial incentives to keep getting their dopamine fix with ratebaiting). And many insist on making it everyone else's problem.
Gaming is in a phenomenal spot in many ways, and the strong surge of indie studios not just cropping up but putting out BANGERS is really, really good for the industry. Hopefully helps force the big studios away from the venture capitalists wrecking everything, and back towards the creatives who make this amazing interactive art form for us to enjoy.
