New OD Trailer, New Physint Info and More Revealed for Kojima Productions’ 10th Anniversary

It’s Kojima Productions’ tenth birthday (well, nearly, anyway), and to celebrate, the studio and its founder Hideo Kojima have released a bevy of new info about their upcoming projects, including ODPhysint, and more.

First up, there’s a brand new trailer for OD, and it might give us some idea as to what kind of game the project actually is. OD was announced in 2023 in partnership with Xbox and Get Out director Jordan Peele, but since then, details have been scarce.

Well, the new trailer has changed all that, and it turns out that OD looks…quite a lot like PT, as it happens. Perhaps we should have guessed that a two-letter title and Kojima’s involvement would yield something PT-esque. You can check out the trailer here.

The trailer’s title is “KNOCK”, and it begins with a suitably spooky redacted text intro that promises an encounter with something “cursed”, ten years after a nameless horror took place.

As the trailer progresses, we see a character lighting some candles before setting what appears to be a doll’s head on fire, although the character’s subsequent reaction suggests that there’s a lot more significance to this than just burning plastic.

The cancellation of P.T. and Silent Hills, the game it was originally intended to herald, have been sore spots for Kojima fans and horror aficionados in general, so perhaps OD can do something to salve that particular injury.

If OD doesn’t look like your vibe, though, rest assured Kojima Productions has some other news in store for you. The studio also revealed more about Physint, the “next-generation espionage action game” revealed back in early 2024. A new poster was revealed, which you can see here.

This is Physint‘s first poster. Intrigued?

The poster depicts a character wielding a gun and wearing something that isn’t a million miles away from Solid Snake’s espionage getup, together with the tagline “Here Comes the Feeling”. I’d say we’ll probably find out what that means when the game launches, but knowing Kojima, that probably won’t be enough either.

Kojima also revealed that Physint will star Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe, although we don’t know what characters the three will be playing yet, nor indeed any details about the plot or setup for the game.

New info on upcoming Death Stranding visual projects was also revealed; the A24 movie won’t be a direct adaptation, it turns out, and will instead tell an original story in the world of the Death Stranding games.

We also got to see the debut trailer for a brand new Death Stranding animated movie by the name of Mosquito, which also won’t be a direct adaptation. Who knew Death Stranding‘s world still had so many stories left in it?

All in all, it’s looking like a pretty busy couple of years ahead for Kojima Productions. If you want to know how busy the studio’s last few years have been, you can check out Death Stranding 2: On the Beach right now on PS5.
