Each month, Sony updates its PlayStation Plus Extra / Premium line-ups with new and (sometimes) returning games. For the month of October, subscribers can look forward to a wide variety of offerings ranging from major first-party titles to AAA 3rd-parties, day-one indies, horror games and much more.
Taking to the PlayStation Blog, Sony officially detailed all of the titles set to land onto PlayStation Plus Extra / Premium throughout the month of October. Serving as one of the service’s stronger months in some time, all those subscribed to PS Plus Extra can look forward to the following:
Available Now:
20th October:
- Mafia: The Old Country
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Mycopunk [Day-One addition]
27th October:
- Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2
- Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition
- Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game
PS Plus Premium members meanwhile will receive all the above plus the following:
- Dino Crisis 2
- RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition
- Mortal Shell II [Game Trial]
- Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy [Game Trial]
The inclusion of Horizon Forbidden West is of particular note due to the fact that this isn’t the first time that the game has been added to PS Plus Extra. Initially joining the service back in February of 2023 (one year on from its launch), Forbidden West would depart PS Plus just a year later – odd given that it is a first-party PlayStation title.
That said, Sony themselves later appeared to admit that its early inclusion onto the service was a mistake, noting that it led to a significant drop in direct sales for the game. With all that in mind, it is safe to assume that its arrival onto PS Plus this time round will likely be a more permanent affair with it now being almost 5 years old.
