Oda Has Officially Confirmed The Characters With Joy Boy Level Haki

This article contains spoilers for One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.

Haki is an incredibly powerful ability that has only grown in prominence in the Post-Timeksip of One Piece. Right now, it can be said that Haki is, quite easily, a big part of the main One Piece power system, right alongside Devil Fruits. In the Final Saga, Oda has made it quite clear that Joy Boy is the strongest Haki user in One Piece. That said, there are a few who can actually be compared to him, and this includes the likes of Shanks, whose Haki has directly drawn comparisons with Joy Boy in the Egghead arc. Along with him, there are others as well, and Oda will surely shed more light on them as the story continues.

The Power Of Haki In One Piece

  • Armament And Observation Are Present In Everyone
  • Only a Few Can Use Supreme King Haki

To put it simply, Haki is a spiritual power that exists within everyone, but only a few people can actually bring it out. Normally, Haki can be divided into two types, those being Armament and Observation Haki.

To never doubt, that is true power. Now watch, Haki can mainly be classified into two main types. — Silvers Rayleigh in Ruskaina, teaching Luffy Haki

While the former allows the user to make use of their spiritual energy like armor for both offensive and defensive purposes, the latter is almost like a sixth sense that can also allow a glimpse of the future, when trained to advanced levels. Then, there is the strongest Haki, called the Color of the Supreme King, that can intimidate and overwhelm the enemy, which only a few can use.

To take things one step beyond, Supreme King Haki can also be infused, and there are not many in the One Piece world who can use this power. According to Kaido, only a handful of the strongest can.

Joy Boy Stands On The Very Top

His Haki Is The Most Overpowered

Joy Boy uses the powers of the Nika Fruit - One Piece

Over the years, Oda has given One Piece fans many incredible displays of Haki, but none of them are as majestic as what Joy Boy did at the end of Egghead. For those who don’t remember, Joy Boy’s Haki was so powerful that it could easily nullify the transformations of the Five Elders, and even cancel the summoning performed by Saturn. It split the skies on its own, and it knocked out all the Vice Admirals of the Marines. To take things one step beyond, it also gave Imu the shivers, which is absolutely shocking, to say the least. Clearly, this is One Piece’s most powerful display of Haki. That said, a few characters can potentially match it.

Only A Few Legends Can Match Joy Boy’s Haki

When it comes to those whose Haki can come close to that of Joy Boy, Roger, obviously, stands in line. Fans know the Pirate King conquered the Grand Line and he did so with just Haki alone. Kaido holds him to a different level of Haki power, which practically confirms that he has a fair shot at rivaling Joy Boy’s Haki display in his prime. Similarly, Rocks D. Xebec didn’t have any Devil Fruit, and fans know he was a rival to Roger. Clearly, his Haki strength could’ve rivaled Joy Boy’s.

Shanks, on the other hand, has had direct comparisons with Joy Boy. Meanwhile, Garp was a rival to Roger and fought primarily with Haki, and of course, there is also Luffy to consider, who, although not the finished product, will actually go on to surpass Joy Boy.
