Palworld 1.0 Confirmed for 2026, “Several Surprises” Coming This Year

Palworld developer Pocketpair has revealed that it intends to release the 1.0 version of the creature-collecting survival game next year, but it’s not quite done with 2025 yet either.

In a new dev video (as well as a post on Steam), Pocketpair reveals that the full release of Palworld is coming in 2026, although the studio stops short of announcing exactly when we can expect the game’s 1.0 launch.

Community manager Bucky does, however, say that Pocketpair will be taking the time between now and Palworld‘s 1.0 release to fix the “quirks and jank” that the game still has. He says taking the time to do so will “ultimately lead to a better game”.

Palworld 1.0 is set to launch sometime next year.

According to Bucky, Pocketpair putting its head down to develop Palworld 1.0 means that things will be “a little quiet” on the developer’s side for the rest of 2025, and that the game’s upcoming winter update won’t be on the same scale as last year’s Feybreak was.

This does not, however, mean there will be no updates. Pocketpair is still planning “a few surprises” for its winter update this year, Bucky says, and furthermore, development on the game is not “slowing down” or “scaling back”.

In fact, Palworld 1.0 will be a “major milestone” for the game, and a “truly massive amount of content” is planned for that update. Sneak peeks of what you can expect from the full release of the game will be released in the coming months.

The video closes with a quick mention of Pocketpair’s publishing wing, which published Surgent Studios’ horror game Dead Take earlier this year, as well as what sounds like confirmation that Pocketpair is working on new games, although no details were revealed.

News of Palworld‘s 1.0 release window comes amidst a lawsuit against Pocketpair filed by Japanese gaming giant Nintendo, with the latter alleging patent infringement (although Nintendo’s own conduct when it comes to patents has arguably been somewhat questionable as well).

In any case, Palworld 1.0 is scheduled to launch sometime next year. You can check the game out in Early Access right now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
