I'm hoping I can pick up a PS5 disk edition in April… son has a digital, I want the disk so I can collect physical games
Intergalactic will release at end of the ps5 era
Intergalactic will be a woke flop and sony had enough
Naughty Dog will wait until ps6 to release it. Meaning we didn't get a game from them this gen.
The focus is 2026 games Saros, Wolverine, Phantom Blade. 2027 is Intergalactic, Final Fantasy 7 finale, Gran Turismo 8, with 2028 giving us Silent Hill 1 & whatever Santa Monica & Guerilla Games gives us, and possibly X Men from Insomniac. No need to oversaturate PS5 with Spiderman when that can be saved for PS6 with no cross gen in 2031 or something.
If Sony wants to market Intergalactic, they can pull a Wolverine and show our first look at Gameplay at a September State of Play

My biggest concerns for Intergalactic is that it feels small in terms of scope. The name Intergalactic would infer that If it would have deep lore across many star systems. If it was centralized on one space station and a couple planets, it would end up feeling small compared to something like Squadron 42. But still, I’ll take the new IP with the caveat that it doesn’t fall into a dumb talking cycle of whether it’s woke. We used to be able to enjoy things like Alien and Star Trek without this stigma.
Yeah they should probably show something for intergalactic because I was genuinely trying to remember what the hell you were talking about
Even beyond just thinking ahead, the PS5 selling well this whole generation probably made it feasible for them to stockpile, ship a lot of systems, and produce them at a high enough rate to improve production efficiency / costs over time. So they're in the strongest position during all this vs Xbox letting production slow in response to lower demand, not really being able to get production costs down, and not being able to stockpile since the cost stays the same and potentially having to do aggressive rebate deals with retailers to move stock faster.
Just my estimation.
Stellar Blade was my 2024 game of the year.
Just so you understand the dram situation more clearly. Foundries like TSMC and Samsung have shifted almost all their wafer capacity to making HBM for AI. They stopped making standard DDR5 for consumers.
Don't care, let PS cook, quit bothering devs, my backlog says I don't need constant updates, PS invests in these studios then they stab PS gamers in the back, Arrowhead and shift up, very irritating, PS needs to realize PC is the competition and stop porting and pull games off PC storefronts, nixxes can work on PSvr2 ports, every 1st person game needs a PSvr2 port, so get to work nixxes
