Following weeks of reports and rumours surrounding a supposed State of Play, Eurogamer has corroborated the leaks, stating that the livestream would happen this week.

Other notable leakers including Shpeshal_Nick and Rand al Thor claimed that the State of Play is pitched to occur “around” the 31st of January.

Since then, Sony has come out and officially announced the showcase, revealing that it will indeed go live on the 31st, lasting for 40 minutes and featuring Stellar Blade plus Rise of the Ronin. That said, many of the showcase’s confirmed 15 titles have leaked, with a partial line-up including:

  • Death Stranding 2
  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
  • Sonic Generations Remaster
  • Silent Hill 2 Remake
  • New Metro game (likely VR)

Following on for Microsoft’s recent Xbox Developer Direct, it will be interesting to see what Sony and PlayStation have in store for 2024.
