Bug Catchers prepare yourself! The Pokémon GO’s Bug Out event is back for 2025, bringing with it the debut of Sizzlipede, increased shiny odds for Venipede and Wurmple, the return of Kleavor, and more!

Wednesday, March 26, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time

Event Bonuses

Debut of Sizzilpede!
Increased chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede
2× XP for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better.
Increased Candy for Nice Throws or better.
Increased chance for Candy XL for Nice Throws or better for Trainers level 31 and up.
Lure Modules will attract Sizzlipede during the event
If enough Pokémon are caught with help from a single

Lure Module, additional Pokémon will appear near the lured PokéStop.

Sizzipede Debut

The following Pokémon first discovered in the Galar region will make their Pokémon GO debuts:

Sizzlipede is a Bug and Fire type Pokémon known as the Radiator Pokémon. You can use 50 Sizzlipede Candy to evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch. Centiskorch also has a Gigantamax form that has an incredible design!

There will be a free Timed Research opportunity available. Timed Research rewards include the following:

Encounters with event-themed Pokémon, including Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more!

Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Paid Timed Research

For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research. Timed Research rewards include the following:

Two Premium Battle Passes
Encounters with event-themed Pokémon, including Heracross, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more!

Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends that they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers— are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.

Collection Challenge

Event-themed Collection Challenges are coming. Complete catch- and Evolution-focused Collection Challenges to receive Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
