Pokemon Encounter icon

Volcanion makes its inaugural appearance in Pokémon GO at Pokémon GO Fest 2025!

This year, the Mythical Pokémon Volcanion—the Steam Pokémon—will heat up the event! Volcanion will make their Pokémon GO debut during the Pokémon GO Fest 2025 event in Osaka, Japan! Follow the story told by your event-exclusive Special Research and adventure throughout the park, and get ready for your own encounter with Volcanion!

Trainers will only encounter Volcanion once no matter how many GO Fest 2025 Special Research stories they acquire and complete. If you plan to attend multiple in-person GO Fest 2025 events, the first relevant Special Research story you obtain will award your Volcanion encounter.

Any subsequent GO Fest Special Research you obtain and complete will award you with Volcanion Candy instead of a Volcanion encounter once it is completed.
