A Reddit user, Pengolin, recently shared one of the quirkiest Pokémon GO Battle League glitches we’ve seen in a while – their match took place on a beach instead of the usual GBL arena!
At first glance, you’d think this was a new arena design rolled out by Niantic (or rather, Scopely), because it honestly looks fantastic. The tropical trees and even the odd, unstyled floor somehow work together, creating a vibe that makes you wonder why battling isn’t always this chill. We wouldn’t mind!
Naturally, Trainers in the original thread are loving the idea, with one of the top comments being: “Can we make that glitch a feature?” Others chimed in saying they’ve encountered the same bug before. One Trainer wrote: “I get this every so often, although it’s a different kind of beach background. I don’t think it’s a glitch, rather something that’s not been fully implemented.”
While this is just a visual bug (and not a sneak peek at upcoming features), Scopely should totally consider adding a “GBL Beach” as an optional battle environment. Who wouldn’t want to throw a Charged Attack while listening to virtual waves?
And honestly—since we already have full biome support in the game with 3D catch screens and randomized backgrounds—why not bring that variety to PvP too? Seems like a no-brainer to us!
