The Pokemon franchise’s ninth-generation games have offered plenty of opportunities to pick up some free goodies throughout their lifespan, often in celebration of special events and new premieres. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has utilized the Mystery Gift function for everything from exclusive outfits to special Pokemon through the online service. Now, fans are getting the chance to pick up a special fifth-generation Pokemon.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s major championships have frequently seen The Pokemon Company giving out special Pokemon based on those used by its best players. The Pokemon Company typically gives fans the ability to claim a copy of one particular Pokemon used by tournament winners, boasting the same movesets, Tera Types, and stats. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet even celebrated the Pokemon Horizons anime with special starter Pokemon, based on those used by Liko, Roy, and Dot in the anime. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Giving Out Special Whimsicott
The Pokemon Company is giving out a special Whimsicott to celebrate Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s Latin America International Championships. Pokemon fans can use the code “LA1C26TA1LW1ND” to pick up a copy of the Whimsicott used by North America International Championship winner Federico Camporesi. The Whimsicott boasts a Water Tera type while holding a Covert Cloak, featuring the Prankster ability and a Careful nature. The Whimsicott even features the same moveset used by Camporesi’s Pokemon, with the Pokemon coming with Moonblast, Tailwind, Light Screen, and Encore.

The Whimsicott distribution event looks to give fans access to a unique Pokemon to boost up their competitive Scarlet and Violet teams. The Whimsicott, much like other Pokemon featured in Scarlet and Violet‘s Mystery Gifts, comes in the exclusive Cherish Ball, only available through special distribution Pokemon. The event Pokemon also features the special Battle Champion ribbon, only given out to players who win major competitive Pokemon events. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will need to act fast to claim the Whimsicott, however, with the distribution event only available through November 30.
While Pokemon Legends Z-A has taken the spotlight for many Pokemon fans following its release, The Pokemon Company has continued to support the ninth-generation games. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet continue to receive new seven-star raids for players to challenge, with a new Water Tera-type Goodra raid running through the end of November. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were also among the games to receive free upgrades for the Switch 2, with the Pokemon games seeing improved performance on the new Nintendo platform. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet continue to stay relevant, even as many Pokemon fans move on to Legends: Z-A.
