The New Moon Day event is back for September in Pokémon Sleep. This is the fifth New Moon Day event, and the fifth of 2025! This event is held once a month for a total of three days—on the day of the new moon and the days before and after it. This event will have special appearance rates and it will be harder for Pokémon to become full.
The next Good Sleep Day event will be held from September 21st, to September 24th. You can take part in this event in any research area.

Special Appearance Rate
- Darkrai
A special appearance rate is a bonus that gives you an opportunity to encounter Pokémon you normally wouldn’t meet.
During the New Moon Day event, you’ll be able to encounter Darkrai in all areas, regardless of your sleep type.
Darkrai will sometimes appear during the first sleep research of the day, but will never appear during the second sleep research of the day.
Additionally, each time you don’t encounter Darkrai during sleep research, your chances of encountering Darkrai during New Moon Day sleep research will increase a little.

- Each day of the New Moon Day event rolls over at 4:00 a.m.
- After the event ends, you’ll no longer be able to encounter Darkrai in any area.
- Event bonuses apply only to sleep data tracked during the event.
- If you wait to report sleep data tracked before the event began and select “Review Later” during the event, event bonuses will not be applied.
- If you wait to report sleep data tracked during the event and select “Review Later” after the event has ended, event bonuses will be applied.
- Event bonuses do not apply to sleep tracking during the tutorial.
- Event bonuses will trigger regardless of which site you conduct your sleep research in.
- If overlapping events trigger more than one of the same type of bonus, the larger bonus will be applied.
