Predator: Hunting Grounds Announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, New Content Also Coming

Today IllFonic announced that it acquired the publishing rights for Predator: Hunting Grounds, which was originally published for PS5 and PC by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

As a result, the game will expand its platform portfolio with a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S Release in late 2024. A specific release date has not been announced.

The current-generation port will run on the 4.27 version of Unreal Engine and both a Standard Edition and a Digital Deluxe Edition will be available.

That being said, even those playing on PS4 and PC have something to look forward to, as new content is coming. In April 2024 we’ll get Patch 2.49.

This will focus on player movement, Fireteam weapon rework and balance, Predator weapon balance, and UX/playability improvements. Full patch notes will be provided in due time.

The developers also plan to implement new predators in two separate releases in winter 2024 and spring 2025.

At the moment, the specific improvements involved in the current generation port have not been detailed, but it’ll be interesting to see whether they’ll make a big difference.

Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetrical multiplayer shooter that pitches one Predator against a four-player fireteam of humans who have to complete a series of missions before they are exterminated by their alien enemy.

It was originally launched in April 2021 for PS4 and PC. While it received several updates, development has been dormant for quite a while, so it’s nice to see that it’ll be picked up again.
