PS Plus Monthly Games for October 2025 Are Just One Game Short of a Triple Threat

PlayStation Plus is on a bit of a hot streak as the monthly subscription service heads into the waning months of the year. After bringing some excellent titles to members’ libraries throughout the course of summer, along with Sony celebrating 15 years of PS Plus, the onset of the traditional spooky season has already seen 2023’s widely acclaimed survival-horror sequel Alan Wake 2 added to October’s Essential picks.

While the next round of games for the Extra and Premium tiers should be officially listed next week on Wednesday, October 15, ahead of this, some big news regarding the upcoming additions recently surfaced. Known industry leaker Billbil-kun revealed another notable title coming to PlayStation Plus, and it’s one that’s also in keeping with the Halloween spirit. Billbil-kun states that last year’s highly successful Silent Hill 2 Remake will be coming to PS Plus Extra. Given their trusted track record, it seems safe to assume this information is accurate, and it simultaneously opens up the possibility for Sony to place the third and final piece of a horror game puzzle, so to speak, for PS Plus this month.

Players may also want to be aware that two horror-related titles will be leaving the service on October 21, with Supermassive Games’ The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes and The Devil in Me being rotated off.

A Recent Resident Evil Game Coming to PS Plus Alongside Alan Wake 2 and Silent Hill 2 Remake for October 2025 Would Be the Perfect Fit

Alan Wake 2 and Silent Hill 2 Remake hitting PS Plus are fantastic choices, but there remains an elephant in the room in that Resident Evil Village and RE4 Remake have often been requested for PS Plus, but have yet to hit the service. Many have found this a bit strange given the strong relationship between Capcom and Sony and that other RE titles have been in the catalog in the past, including the second and third mainline titles earlier this year. As such, it seems the moment would be right for at least one of them to also be added to either PS Plus Extra or Premium soon.

As a brief breakdown of these four titles:

Though the Resident Evil titles have moved the most units pound for pound, each of these games has garnered high praise and reception from critics and fans alike. Taking a look at their respective scores on OpenCritic, they currently stand at:

Game

Top Critic Average

Payer Rating

Alan Wake 2

89

90

Silent Hill 2 Remake

87

90

Resident Evil Village

84

90

Resident Evil 4 Remake

92

90

Interestingly, players have rated each one at an even 90 overall, with the critical average dipping slightly lower or above in RE4 Remake‘s case. With the news that Silent Hill 2 Remake will likely be coming to PS Plus Extra, though, that makes two of the best horror titles in recent memory being on PS Plus concurrently. And Sony could still go even further by finally adding one of the latest and extremely popular Resident Evil entries to either PS Plus Extra or Premium this October, which would undoubtedly be a big Halloween treat for subscribers, and mark a banner month for the service.
