Resident Evil 4 Remake: How to Get Red9 Handgun

The Red9 handgun is a favorite of Resident Evil 4 fans, so it makes sense it would return in the remake. It’s the most powerful handgun — not magnum — the game in terms of pure damage output. With that in mind, you’ll want to know where to find its location in RE4 Remake, as well as the stock.

Combining the gun with the Red9 stock means you’ll have a stable, high-damage weapon with a large clip as your primary Ganado defense. So where can you find the Red9 in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

Unlike a vast majority of the weapons you’ll get in Resident Evil 4 Remake, the Red9 handgun cannot be purchased from the Merchant. You’ll need to find this gun hiding in Chapter 4.

The most convenient time to pick up Red9 is also the first time it appears in Chapter 4.

In Chapter 4, you’ll have access to a boat to cross the lake in a more exploration-heavy segment of the game. When you’re out on the open water, head to the middle of the lake, where you’ll find a small shipwreck. You can pull up to it and dock your boat to hop aboard.

From here, go inside the boat’s control room, where you’ll see a treasure. Take or ignore this treasure, and go around to the front of the boat and make a quick turn to see a special ornamental blue treasure case.

Open the treasure case to find the Red9 handgun inside. Make sure you have room in your inventory or you’ll have to shift some items around to fit this weapon in your case.

How to Get the Red9 Stock

The Red9 is a good handgun without the stock, but this add-on is definitely worth the price and the room it takes up in your inventory. You can get the Red9 Stock by trading with the Merchant. The Red9 stock cost 9?? Spinels, the currency exclusive to trading with the character in RE4 Remake. The primary means of acquiring Spinels is completing Blue Request Note side quests.

By following these steps you can get the Red9 handgun in Resident Evil 4 Remake and the stock attachment to go along with it. For more RE4 Remake tips and strategies, head on over to our guides hub
