A listing for the Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil Requiem may have just accidentally revealed that Rose is going to be playable in an expansion for the game called “The Sanctuary”.
Even before Resident Evil Requiem was officially announced, fans have been wondering whether we’d end up seeing Leon Kennedy as a playable character, since he was mentioned in the first leaks for RE9. That question has remained the biggest one surrounding the game since it was announced, with Grace Ashcroft being the only confirmed character so far.
While it’s very likely that Leon is going to be in the game based on all the rumours regarding him, Capcom has remained very quiet about what to expect and even fought back against the claims. Even if we’re still waiting on Leon’s reveal, it seems that Requiem might be hiding an even more surprising playable appearance, if a Deluxe Edition listing is to be believed.
Rosemary Winters Might Be Playable In Resident Evil Requiem’s DLC
Don’t Even Ask Me What That Means For The Timeline
As pointed out by Redditor Hot-Challenge-2755 on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, GameStop’s listing for the PC Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil Requiem was recently updated to reveal more details about the game’s DLC. Those details claim that the game’s main expansion is called “The Sanctuary”, and that it’ll feature Rosemary Winters as a playable character.
That listing has since been updated to remove the mentions of Rose, The Sanctuary, and the Mercenaries updates, but not before everyone saw it and started sharing it around. If true, it sounds like The Sanctuary will jump forward in time, as Rose would canonically be far too young in the year that Resident Evil Requiem’s main campaign is set.
“The Sanctuary” Expansion Pass: Includes 2 new story scenarios and a major Mercenaries mode update. “Morphic Visor” Cosmetic Filter: A unique cosmetic look for Rose’s visor.
While I don’t think it’s too far-fetched that Requiem’s expansion would let us see how Rose is getting on since the game seems to be wrapping up a lot of stories and leaving the series’ future open, a lot of fans are incredibly unconvinced. In the Reddit thread where the leak was shared, many claim that GameStop has likely just used an AI summary for the information since it seems to unbelievable.
As of the time of writing, that hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but it’s worth keeping in mind before believing the listing too much. For all of you Leon-heads out there thinking that Rose is replacing him, don’t worry, as the description makes it sound like Rose is relegated to the alleged Mercenaries mode and The Sanctuary expansion.
