Silksong Has A Secret Item That Brings Back The Original Pogo

If you’re having a tough time adjusting to Hornet’s diagonal bounce in Hollow Knight: Silksong, you might want to seek out a secret item that makes her play much more like the first game’s Knight.

Everyone has spent so long preparing for the long-awaited release of Silksong, but I don’t think anyone was expecting it to be quite as challenging as it is. The main takeaway from the game so far is that it’s much more difficult than the original, especially when it comes to the platforming.

One of the biggest sources for Silksong’s tough platforming is Hornet’s unique diagonal bounce, which is similar to the Knight’s pogo but harder to master because of its strange direction. Well, if that’s what’s stopping you from getting through some of Silksong’s tougher sections, you’ll be happy to know there’s a way to make things easier.

Friendship Over With Hornet, Wanderer’s Crest Is My New Best Friend

As pointed out by IGN in a very helpful guide, Hollow Knight: Silksong is hiding a secret item that basically lets you make Hornet control like the Knight in Hollow Knight. That item is the Wanderer’s Crest, which basically changes Hornet’s moveset and gives her different slots for her tools than the default Hunter’s Crest.

To find the Wanderer’s Quest, you’ll need to have unlocked the sprint ability and defeated the Bell Beast. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need a Simple Key (which can be purchased in Bone Bottom near the start of the game) and then need to head to to the West of Mosshome. Once you’ve reached Wormways, you’ll be able to find the Wanderer’s Crest.

Equipping the Wanderer’s Crest at a bench will change Hornet’s moveset a little bit by reducing her range and essentially making her play like the Knight from the first game. This includes changing the diagonal attack into a downwards one, which should be easier for any Hollow Knight veterans who are struggling to get used to Hornet’s unique moveset.
