Silksong Players Share Their Biggest Nitpicks With The Game

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been out for a good while now, meaning everyone has thoroughly combed the land of Pharloom and the Citadel, rescued every flea, beaten every boss, and overcome every challenge that Team Cherry managed to throw at us. With all of that under our belts, we can now confidently look back on Silksong and judge it for the game that it is, and just like every other game under the sun, there are a few nitpicks that fans have.

While a lot of them have been difficulty oriented ever since the game launched, we’re not talking about that today. A Reddit user and Silksong fan called Acrobatic_Book_7154 asked the game’s community for their biggest nitpicks in the game that aren’t difficulty-related, and rattled off a few of their own to kick things off. Interestingly, a lot of their little bugbears ended up being shared by quite a few people.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Players Share Their Biggest Nitpicks With The Game

First off, Silksong’s voice lines come under fire a little from a lot of fans, specifically the lack of voice lines that made the jump over from the first game. Any Hollow Knight fan worth their salt has screamed “SHAW” at the top of their lungs, and one fan called Dave_the_dova laments that there is “not a single Shaw in the entire game”, despite how popular the phrase is among the Team Cherry faithful.

Another big nitpick mentioned by fans is the Needolin, which comes under fire for a number of reasons. For starters, a user called Fuzzy-Paws argues that the Needolin “discourages you from using it to get the lore and dialogue locked behind it” by burning your Silk while you’re playing it, with many calling it a worse Dream Nail in that regard. There are also complaints about how useless it is in combat, and if you’re now sat there discovering that it can be used in combat, I’m right there with you.

Lace also gets a mention from a few people in the replies, though it has nothing to do with how difficult she is to fight. Instead, users like Level34MafiaBoss are annoyed that Lace doesn’t show up often enough while you’re exploring Pharloom like other bugs do, arguing that it would have “made me be invested in her arc.” Another user called Commonality agrees with them too, saying that they would “love if she showed up in every possible spot just to be a hater.”

There are plenty of other nitpicks that fans have, such as not being able to get Shard Bundles in bulk, the music being a little bit too quiet, bosses not dropping rewards sometimes, and a few other things. Though, to be honest, if those are the worst things that Silksong fans can come up with that aren’t difficulty related, then I think we can confirm that Team Cherry has made a damn fine video game.
