Sinistea Spotlight Hour
Bonuses
-
You will get 2x Candy for catching Pokémon
Note on Catch Bonus
If you do not want to catch the featured Pokémon, you can make use of the 2x Catch Candy bonus by catching any saved Scatterbug, or opening a Mystery Box or Coin Bag! You can stock up field research or leave any special or timed research encounters until Spotlight Hour to make use of this bonus. If you aren’t interested in Sinistea candy, you could even use this bonus to get extra candy from catching raid bosses!
Sinistea is a Ghost-type Pokémon in Pokémon GO. As a Ghost-type Pokémon, Sinistea is weak to Dark and Ghost-type moves.
Sinistea’s maximum Combat Power stat is 1287 CP, and its best Pokémon GO moves are Sucker Punch and Shadow Ball. Sinistea encounters are boosted during Fog weather. Shiny Sinistea is available thanks to the Halloween event!

Sinistea has two different forms, Phony, and Authentic. The Antique form has a stamp of authenticity under the cup. Normally, both look the same in the encounter screen as well as the Pokédex, but the stamp (if available) is viewable in AR.
Antique form Sinistea has a higher evolution cost, at 400 Sinistea Candy to evolve! On appraisal, your Team Leader will tell you whether the Sinistea you caught is the Phony or Authentic Form.

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Sinistea if they are Mega/Primal evolved.
A Note on Mega Catch Bonus
While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.
PVP
Great League
Polteageist has no niche in the Great League, suffering from low bulk and lacking a reliable way to bait shields.
Ultra League
Ghost-types are highly common in the Ultra League, and most of them are far superior to Polteageist in every possible way. Avoid using it if you want to secure wins.
Master League
Absolutely not!
PVE
The cup of (Sinis)tea turns into a full-blown teapot… Polteageist!
And to everyone’s surprise, Polteageist has a 248 ATK stat! Oh my!
But to no one’s surprise, it’s a glass cannon as well.
That said, Hex + Shadow Ball is meta and makes Polteageist a very usable Ghost-type attacker!
Raids
There’s a legion of Ghost-type Pokémon better than Polteageist in DPS and TDO. That said, you can still use this Pokémon in Raids as long as you dodge well.
Not a premier pick, but capable for sure!
Gyms
A pretty fragile Pokémon, so not ideal for Gym defense.
