It looks like Stalker 2 is about to get another major update. Patch 2.1 is due to roll out this week, bringing further enhancements to the A-LIFE NPC system, a new fast travel option and some combat balance tweaks.
The full details on the patch aren’t available just yet, as GCS Game World hasn’t released the full patch notes. However, a Sony blog post that broke embargo revealed the highlights. For starters, Patch 2.1 will increase the visualisation range for A-LIFE NPCs, which should help make the open world feel more alive.
Beyond that, GCS Game World is implementing a new fast travel mechanic with squad leaders. This likely works similarly to prior Stalker titles, where you speak to a roaming squad leader and then get the option to fast travel with that squad to wherever they are going.
Those are the biggest changes but there will also be a range of bug fixes in this patch, as well as “adjustments for combat & ballistics”.
