With the first major update for Arknights: Endfield so far, we received plenty of new content for this hit gacha game, not least of which is the Supreme Chief of the new Qingbo Stockade, Tangtang. She’s a friend of Chen Qianyu’s and is more than willing to help you help her people.
Primarily serving as a support unit with impressive Cryo application but with a good DPS output for someone in her role, Tangtang is definitely an operator to pull for in Arknights: Endfield, especially if you’re running any kind of Solidification reaction teams that would benefit from additional Cryo.
Best Tangtang Weapons And Gear
If you’ve reached Wuling already in Arknights: Endfield, then you’ll likely already be excited for the Qingbo Stockade that was added with the very first major update for the game in version 1.1 in March 2026. Their faithful Supreme Chief is Tangtang, a six-star operator also debuting on the banners in 1.1.

Tangtang is a very lively character, so expect plenty of fun chatter as you add her to teams as a strong Cryo caster who specializes in using handcannons on the battlefield. This ranged ability, especially when coupled with her excellent Agility stat as her main attribute (and Strength as her secondary to back it all up), offers her plenty of good chances for Cryo application that makes her a strong contender on Solidification teams.
If you played through the “waterwheelies” part of the story so far, you’ll be unsurprised to see Tangtang creating whirlpools on the battlefield to help add to her Cryo infliction capabilities. Follow them up with waterspouts that allow you to set up for some series Solidification no matter which team you’re running with Tangtang in Arknights: Endfield. She fits well into any team that needs great elemental support, so she plays well with most other operators as well as being a powerhouse on her own.

The only five-star handcannon we’ve found to be helpful in calling on Tangtang’s Cryo output was Opus: The Living, since it gives an attack boost for 20 seconds after its user applies an Arts Reaction, which is Tangtang’s specialty in combat. She’ll receive a boost to her Agility stat here with this weapon, as well as a flat arts damage percentage increase. |

For the most part, you’ll see Tangtang have the best success on the battlefield in Arknights: Endfield when you pair her with other Cryo DPS units to help double down on your Solidification output, especially with her helpful support capabilities making Solidification easier to achieve for other teammates. Strong Cryo units that fill this role would be either Last Rite or Yvonne, who can be slotted into the team above fairly interchangeably. Pop Perlica in the mix for some electrification to help trigger Solidification, and you’ve got one heck of a fighting force on Tangtang’s team.
Xaihi is all but required on a team with Tangtang in Arknights: Endfield, like most Cryo casters, due to her impressive buffs that further improve how much Cryo damage your team can deal.
However, without one of the other six-star Cryo users we’ve mentioned in our table above, you may be more inclined to use Tangtang in more of a foremost DPS role by filling the team with other four-star or free-to-play operators available from the previous version of the game. We’d definitely recommend her as a Solidification support before a main DPS unit, but without either Last Rite or Yvonne, you’d do well to put her in charge of damage instead.
The team we’ve recommended as the best alternate team for Tangtang gives you access to both Solidification and Corrosion, with Ardelia along for the ride as an ever-so helpful healer on the battlefield. You’ll all but want to play with Tangtang as your controlled operator in this set-up, though, so it’s a bit less flexible than the primary recommendation we’ve made.
Tangtang Abilities Overview And Upgrade Priority
Regardless of the role you’ve got Tangtang playing in her team comps in Arknights: Endfield, you’ll see her readily able to afflict Cryo damage in the following ways:
- Her Basic Attack – I’ll Blow Your Mind! – can readily deal up to five instances of Cryo damage in battle.
- Tangtang’s Battle Skill – Ima Waveridaah! – fires a single instance of Cryo damage at an enemy and creates a waterspout for a good Cryo DoT move that replenishes some SP and offers an Arts Susceptibility debuff to boot.
- Her Combo Skill – River, To Me! – blasts a line of Cryo damage ahead of her to deal damage and create a lingering whirlpool behind itself, also offering a nice Cryo AoE move.
- Finally, her Ultimate – Da Chief Sees You! – sees Tangtang lift her eyepatch briefly and show us why she’s got that eye covered, since it immobilizes enemies and offers Cryo DoT afflicting any enemy in its area. You’ll finish by summoning a wave to crash down onto these enemies, dealing a colossal amount of Cryo damage when it lands.
Regardless of the role you’ve got Tangtang filling on your Arknights: Endfield team, you’ll want to prioritize her Battle Skill to help her keep providing her with the series of benefits it offers in combat – a DoT move with SP replenishment and a debuff can’t really be beat!
From there, we’d suggest upgrading her Ultimate move, especially if you’re running Tangtang in a Cryo support role instead of primary DPS. Her Combo Skill is a good upgrade after this for the same reason, with final priority going to her Basic Attack.
