Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy has a gacha system that’s actually much more reliant on the abilities you can pull for your characters rather than the characters themselves. This makes the abilities you can pull even more important, as some characters are only as good as the UR ability you pull for them.
Each character has two UR abilities, and they shape what they can do. If you’re looking to create a powerhouse Final Fantasy character, you’ll need to pull for the right UR abilities to make that happen. We’ve ranked all the UR abilities in the game to determine which you should pull for.
Updated on April 7, 2026 by Jerel Levy: We’ve added the latest UR abilities in the game with the release of Iroha and Onion Knight, including both their options and the new UR ability Hope/Renew. We’ve also included some non UR must have abilities you’ll need in your loadout because they’re so necessary at this point in the game for a definitive Dissidia Duellum ability tier list.
Complete Dissidia Duellum Ability Tier List
Abilities are your bread and butter in Dissidia Duellum, making choosing and pulling for the right ones the biggest part of the game. You can’t pull off game-breaking combos if you don’t have the right tools at your disposal.
We’ve ranked the UR abilities based on practicality, ease of use, and just how integral they are to a character’s kit to make them truly shine.

Which Dissidia characters should you pull for?
S+ Tier Abilities
|
Ability |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Ace/Fire RF |
Great as a combo finisher for any character. The range is ridiculous, and after a combo, it’ll almost guarantee a kill. This UR ability otherwise is too niche to recommend. Substitute with SR Firaga if you don’t have this one. |
|
Ramza/ Cheer Up |
If you’re about to die and you have enough bravery that transferring 80 percent of it can clutch your team a win or even a boss fight, you want to have this ability. It’s a must for Krile and Zidane to keep your team in the fight to finish the boss before the enemy team. |
|
Selphie/Wall |
Nullifying status ailments is nice, but an 80% damage reduction is ridiculous. Every character will benefit from running this must-have ability to keep you alive. Use SR Barrier as a substitute if you don’t have this one. |
|
Earth Breaker |
The range is great, the damage is low, but this is a must for breaking all the barriers you’ll encounter throughout the match. Everyone will be running some sort of barrier, and you’ll need a way to stop them. Even as an SR, it’s a great ability to have prepared. |
|
Hope/Renew |
A 100% heal, bringing you back into the battle at full health. A heal is a must in most matches, as you’ll never know if you’re paired with a support player and don’t want to be stuck with 9,999 bravery and die because you have no health. SR Heal is a great substitution, and it’s an AoE heal, so it may be more useful to help heal yourself and your teammates. |
S Tier Abilities
|
Ability |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Supreme Soul |
Useful for the entire party, giving all your allies a damage-dealing area around them to help finish off whatever is in their path. |
|
Cross-Slash |
A cooldown that’s not too long, combined with an attack that not only deals decent damage thanks to Cloud, but also provides a short stun for a follow-up from you or your team to seal the deal. |
|
Meteor |
Similar to Lightning’s Thunderfall, it’s an AoE circle attack that can get rid of all the monsters underneath a crystal at once, making it a great addition for Rinoa. More importantly, it can kill anyone near a boss, stealing their BP and giving you 9,999 if they’re killed during a burst. |
|
Diamond Destroyer |
A UR ability that debuffs the enemy and buffs you at the same time is a big deal. Raise your ATK and SPD while lowering the enemies to unleash deadly blows as a follow-up while they’re rendered almost immobile. |
|
Gachirin |
While Iroha needs both UR abilities to shine, this one is her best. A great way to delete enemies around a boss, and to deal tons of damage in general. A high-damage move with devastating ramifications. |
|
Ninjutsu |
The main single target damage dealer for Onion Knight, Ninjutsu can one-shot enemies after you’ve leveled up during the match, unleashing devastating damage to take out any foe and turn the tide of a battle. |
A Tier Abilities
|
Ability |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Ultimate Shield |
Decent damage-dealing UR ability. The cone can capture several enemies at once if positioned correctly. That’s all it does, though. Decently powerful, but nothing special. |
|
Legend of the Deep Forest |
Continuous healing that can heal up to 300 percent/15 seconds, it’s the ultimate healing ability and a staple for Krile’s loadout. Its 75-second cooldown is too long for S-tier, though. |
|
Riot Blade |
Terra deals high damage to an area pretty far away. This attack has great range for keeping enemies away and hitting those that try to run in a long line away from you. |
|
Omnislash |
The classic ability returns, dealing severe damage and deleting anything caught in its path. A well-timed Omnislash can devastate any foe. |
|
Angel Wing |
A strong attack that stacks to increase Rinoa’s ATK, this ability also fully recovers her HP. If you’re going for Rinoa, you should be pulling for this. You will need to increase her stats to make the most of this, though. |
|
Grand Lethal |
Turn Zidane into a lethal powerhouse with only a 32-second cooldown. This UR ability deals serious damage in a cone, so with good positioning, you can attack several enemies for a good chunk of damage on a cooldown that won’t be too hard to wait for. |
|
Fated Moment |
A timed explosion means you can hit enemies without being in the vicinity. Just make sure it goes off properly, and be prepared to wait 75 seconds. It also decreases their SPD and launches them up in the air for your team to finish them off. |
|
Trigger-Happy |
Prompto’s AoE cone damage ability. It’s decent enough on a 42-second cooldown. It deals enough damage to take out enemies under a crystal as well. An overall good addition. |
|
Thunderfall |
A devastating AoE attack that has the capability of taking out an entire area of monsters. Coupled with her passive Bright Blaze, which deals additional damage to monsters, this UR ability hits everything in a wide area for large damage, proving her power. |
|
Spellbook |
An AoE attack that pairs well with his main damage dealer, Ninjutsu. It’s a great setup for launching foes into the air for a combo, but Ninjutsu is more your bread and butter. |
|
Fuga |
The debuffs on Fuga are great, though they’re only moderate. Decreased DEF and SPD make Fuga a wonderful setup tool in a cone in front of you. |
B Tier Abilities
|
Ability |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Sealed Sacred Light |
Krile’s only damaging UR ability, this has a decently long cooldown, doesn’t do much damage, and is really just useful for escaping, but it’s mostly used to destroy the enemies around a crystal. |
|
Trance (Terra) |
A ridiculously long cooldown for a UR that’ll rely on you being prepared enough to have several fire element abilities in your loadout. When you can do it, though, it’s amazing. |
|
Trance (Zidane) |
Good when you can combo it with his ability, but it has a long cooldown and is reliant on other options to utilize to the fullest. It’s just an ok UR ability, but not a priority for him. |
|
Crackshot |
Great for a follow-up, this UR ability decreases the enemy’s DEF after dealing severe damage. The debuff is nice, but the range and positioning for the follow-up from a teammate can be hard to coordinate. |
|
Army of One |
Lightning dashes forward dealing high damage to a foe. This is her gap closer and high damage dealing attack, however she already has high mobility, and it most likely will only dent your opponent on the enemy team. |
|
Minwu/Teleport |
Situationally useful for any character who has limited mobility, this UR ability is otherwise unnecessary and a waste of a slot that can be used for something more helpful. |
