Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 2 is here and here’s a complete guide on all the weekly quests you’ll want to complete.

In addition to the Floor Is Lava LTM, Midas has also brought quests that can be completed for experience and rewards. More of the LTM quests will be unlocked in the coming days, so make sure you’re getting comfortable with the mode in preparation for those challenges.

The Midas version of The Floor Is Lava LTM works a lot like the original, except you will need to avoid the rising molten gold across the island. Touching it will bring down each player’s health in your squad, which is the only way that you can play this mode.

The Floor Is Lava LTM is presented by Midas and Epic Games has announced that it will disappear once again at the end of the ‘Rise of Midas’ on April 2 at 9am ET. That means you’ll have exactly two weeks to earn the rewards from the LTM and the standard Midas quests.

You
can also complete ‘Rise of Midas’ quests in this mode
if they apply.

To celebrate the return of the character and this LTM, there are also a number of quests that you can take advantage of to earn three free rewards over the course of the event. These rewards include:

  • Complete Three Quests: Lightning King spray
  • Complete Six Quests: Zeus Medallion spray
  • Complete 12 Quests: The Gilded Vengeance Pickaxe

There aren’t enough quests currently to unlock the pickaxe, but more will become available as the event progresses. Some will recognize the pickaxe from this challenge as representing the shark that Midas was apparently able to defeat to come back today.

Objective

Description

Strategy

Build 25 structures over lava.

Build yourself up. And over.

Start a build over solid land and extend it over the rising molten gold.

Use a Harpoon Gun to pull one player into the lava.

Show them where they belong.

While standing near a gap over lava, pull someone across. You can also shoot someone as you jump and pull them down with you.

Eliminate 10 players before touching lava.

Show them who rules the kingdom of gold.

This is cumulative across matches, so just get ten eliminations before the lava gets to you.

Use at least 10 Crash Pad Jrs. or Balloons.

As the lava rises, you must rise faster.

You just need to use 10 of these at any point, which can help you get on top of other player’s builds or structures to protect yourself.

Survive at least 10 Storm Circles.

Master the gold, lest it master you.

This is a fairly passive objective you can complete in a few matches by just surviving.

If some of these quests prove too challenging, it may be worth waiting for Epic Games to add the next round of quests and see if any of those are easier for you.

How To Win Midas Presents: The Floor Is Lava

The main goal in The Floor Is Lava is to get to a higher position to avoid the rising lava, which begins to climb around the time the second Storm Circle closes. While you’ll be safe on much of the island to start, you’ll begin to see the gold color ooze in on your map.

There are a range of items added to the loot pool specifically for this mode to help achieve this, including the Crash Pad Jrs. and Balloons. The Wings of Icarus item is also in this game mode, and it can be invaluable when you’re trying to avoid the lava on this map.

In addition to the extra items in the loot pool, all the guns you’ll find will be Legendary quality and modded with a number of items. Be aware of the weapon you’re selecting and how it can be used throughout the game since you won’t have any opportunities to go looking for the loot once the lava starts to rise.

Communication is key in The Floor Is Lava, so
try to go in with one or multiple people you can talk to
if you want to win.

This makes eliminations quick, as is the overall game, since falling into the lava in the later parts of the game surely means death. Furthermore, all the Reboot Vans will be under the lava pretty quickly, which means bringing allies back from the dead isn’t an option.

Remember that
destroying the base of someone’s structure can cause a chain reaction
that destroys the whole thing and drops them into the lava.

Due to the special items’ limited charges, your best opportunity is to build into the sky to avoid the threat. You can build on the lava, so that’s a positive, but falling into it in the late game can mean sure death.
