Magic: The Gathering‘s Spider-Man set is officially out and about after several controversies and a reportedly low-attendance pre-release week, but Wizards of the Coast is coming out of the gate swinging with more reveals for the remainder of 2025 and a full roadmap for 2026. One of the main issues with MTG‘s release schedule so far has been that it doesn’t really allow fans to catch a breath before another set, Secret Lair drop, or other collab is announced or revealed in more detail. For example, yesterday already saw the reveal of over 20 Lorwyn Eclipsed cards when the set is coming out in four months, and Avatar is in the middle of that.
Yesterday had a lot more reveals in stock, though, with Wizards of the Coast announcing multiple collabs for Secret Lair drops coming as soon as October 2025, while also pinning down most of the main sets to be released in 2026. The list of what’s coming is quite long and equally varied, so fans of other IPs and franchises may get their dream MTG cards soon.
Magic: The Gathering’s 2025 and 2026 Release Schedule Confirmed So Far
Though most of the year has come and gone with plenty of sets and releases, there’s still more WotC has in store for the game. Magic: The Gathering‘s Spider-Man set is officially one day old now, but there’s another set before the year comes to an end, as well as several Secret Lair collabs before the 2026 schedule kicks in. It goes as follows:

Every Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair Drop Confirmed So Far
There are already multiple MTG Secret Lair drops confirmed for October 2025, and another was teased on Twitter for the near future. Most of them will be released via a Superdrop on October 13, whereas a full-fledged PlayStation collab is coming on October 27.

The entire Secret Lair drop costs $29.99 for the non-foil edition and $39.99 for the foil one, and it’s worth noting that Demonic Tutor alone goes for $50 or more for regular printings, meaning that it single-handedly repays the value of the drop. Armageddon, on the other hand, is a mass land destruction card in MTG, so while the art is great, it may be frowned upon when used.

These drops will be available on October 27, and they will include a total of 34 cards (4-5 cards per bundle) if purchased in a block. Not all cards have been shown so far, and the remaining ones will be revealed in the coming weeks. Each bundle of five or four cards goes for $39.99 for the regular version, or $49.99 for the foil version.
What to Expect From Magic: The Gathering’s Holiday Boxes
Several new Final Fantasy products are coming on December 5, and while they are not Standard-legal, this can be a pro more than a con when considering the sheer power of FF cards like Magic: The Gathering‘s Vivi Ornitier. Although the set originally launched in June, it was one of the best-selling in the history of the game, if not the, so it makes sense to see more of it.
Each scene box comes with 3 Play Boosters, 6 scene cards, 6 art-only scene cards, and a display stand. It’s also worth mentioning that the scene cards are all mechanically unique.
On top of that, the new products include four scene boxes dedicated to four of the games that were not picked for MTG‘s Final Fantasy Commander decks. Lastly, there is a Chocobo-themed box with plenty of goodies for fans of either game. The products are:

It’s worth noting that there is also a new promo card dedicated to the existing Yuna, Grand Summoner, that will be distributed during future MTG x FF events.
MTG’s 2026 Release Schedule and Unannounced UB Set Prediction
While MTG‘s new Final Fantasy cards and products close out the year, 2026 will kick off strongly with Lorwyn Eclipsed, of which there are already several spoilers. This is likely going to be a huge set for the game, and it’s also reprinting an iconic card with a twist, as it includes a Black creature called Bitterbloom Bearer that functions like the old Bitterblossom enchantment. Apart from Lorwyn Eclipsed, not much else has been revealed so far in terms of cards and products, which is understandable.
MTG‘s new Universes Beyond sets for 2026 include Marvel Super Heroes, The Hobbit, and Star Trek, but there’s an unannounced one that’s a collaboration with Nickelodeon. This set will be revealed on October 10 at the New York ComicCon, but the most likely outcome is that it’s based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. With 7 sets total, 2026 is already more packed than 2025, and even more new products will likely be revealed over time.
