Thankfully, so far, everything has been going very well, and the intensity of this fight keeps growing, with each passing chapter.

Deku is losing all his quirks against Shigaraki in MHA.

Last week, the very first vestige from Deku was transferred to Shigaraki, and this week, more focus was thrown on Deku trying to transfer the other vestiges, as was expected. Of course, along the way, he faced quite a lot of ups and downs, and that is what made this chapter as exciting as it was.

The Memories Blending In

One of the most interesting aspects of My Hero Academia chapter 415 was the memories of Deku and Shigaraki starting to blend in. As fans know already, Deku and Shigaraki engaged in a quirk transfer process, which saw to it that their memories started blending together at the same time. This actually began towards the end of the previous chapter of the manga, however, more focus was thrown on it in this week’s chapter, and that is precisely what made it very interesting. Fans got to see quite a lot of moments that were highlights of the previous major arcs of the series, and both Deku and Shigaraki got to witness the life of the other through their own lens. Of course, this is a good step to get them to act more empathetic to each other, and hopefully, set the basis for a very exciting finale of the series, as a whole.

One particular panel that stood out in this week’s chapter was when Shigaraki was seen being taken by another man towards the end. Shigaraki was young back then, and he was unknowingly set up for manipulation, which was very sad for Deku to witness. At the same time, it also pushes forward the idea of Shigaraki being a victim himself, which is undeniable. However, it certainly does not erase all the bad things that he has done and things that he continues to do, and that is precisely what Deku is trying to stop.

Shigaraki’s Rejection Of The Quirks

Undoubtedly, the main focus of My Hero Academia chapter 415 was Deku trying to transfer the remaining vestiges inside the body of Shigaraki. The previous Quirk transfer, which saw Kudo move from Deku to Shigaraki, certainly worked as the latter was weakened considerably. As a result, Deku knew that this was a strategy that would work again, and that if he transferred all the remaining six vestiges, Shigaraki would be weakened tremendously to a point where a difference could be made in the battle.

That is precisely what Deku tried to do in this week’s chapter, however, Shigaraki’s body actively started rejecting the quirk transfer process, which made things quite a lot more complicated. Deku initially attempted to transfer all the remaining vestiges inside of Shigaraki, however, this process failed to work as Tomura’s rejection power was way too strong. However, En was still able to transfer inside Shigaraki’s body, and this quirk transfer seems to have weakened him quite a bit. Deku was able to damage Tomura, and En was transferred to his body, which was certainly relieving for all the fans to witness.

My Hero Academia: Horikoshi Confirms Shigaraki As The Strongest Villain

Shigaraki is confirmed as MHA’s greatest villain by the author himself.

Now, there are still remaining quirks that are currently inside of Deku that he wants to transfer to Shigaraki, however, the process is not going to be simple, as has been proven already. It appears that Shigaraki is starting to grow hands all around himself, and these hands are what protect him from harm. Fans know the hands symbolize his family members that he once kept close to him, and now, these same hands are trying to protect him from Deku. However, in order for Deku’s true helping hand to reach out to him by breaking through his defenses, he will have to break through these hands as well.

Of course, as was evident from My Hero Academia chapter 415, what Deku is trying to do here is to transfer the remaining quirks inside Shigaraki’s body. The two that have been successfully transferred have dealt great damage to him already, and the remaining ones are likely to open up the way to victory for Deku. Of course, then, the conversation for whether the One For All will truly be transferred to Shigaraki or not remains. It is likely that Deku will transfer five of the remaining six with his next blow, with Banjo being the last one to remain with him and then, eventually, him leaving Deku’s side as well.

Eri Takes Action

Toward the end of My Hero Academia chapter 415, fans got to see a familiar face once again. This familiar face was that of Eri, and it appears that she is ready to take some sort of action. What Eri is trying to do or wants to do isn’t known at the moment. What fans know for sure is that she is trying to aid Deku in some way. Fans would remember how early aided Deku in the fight against Chisaku in the Shie Hassaikai arc, and perhaps, she is willing to do something similar here. However, the fact that she’s far away from the battlefield means that direct assistance isn’t going to be possible.

Nonetheless, fans are excited to see what it is that she is willing to do in the upcoming chapter of My Hero Academia. At the same time, there are other characters, such as La Brava and, of course, Hatsums, who are trying to help Deku win this battle in their own ways, and hopefully, all of them can come together and destroy Shigaraki and back up Deku. It is not going to be easy, however, it is something that absolutely needs to be done as the story moves forward.

The storytelling in the last few chapters has been immaculate, as has been the art. Horikoshi has managed to deliver some of the most emotionally charged moments, and, hopefully, fans will see more of these in the upcoming chapters as well. With each passing chapter, this arc is now moving closer to its conclusion, and as it ends, fans will most definitely see a satisfactory conclusion to the stories of both a Deku and, hopefully, Shigaraki as well. That said, fans will have to sit back and wait for a while because My Hero Academia is now going on break, which means the next chapter will be out in 2 weeks’ time.

My Hero Academia is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of My Hero Academia, My Hero Academia chapter 416, is set to be March 10, 2024.
