The PlayStation Portal just got its biggest update yet! Version 6.0 brings us a revamped UI and also the full launch of PS5 game streaming. Not only can you stream from the PS Plus game catalogue, but now you can stream over 2,800 digitally owned PS5 games from your library. Alongside that we also have new features like 3D Audio support, a Streaming info toggle, Search Bar, and the PS Button’s function was changed. There’s a decent amount to go over, so here’s everything all wrapped up into one. Here’s everything you should know. And also here’s a tip: Portals are scary. I don't own a Portal yet but I have a question that may sound ignorant. Is it possible to play/stream a game on the Portal while someone plays a different game in the PS5?

Quick question, I feel like I know the answer already but if you have the games in your digital catalog do they still have to be downloaded and installed on the PS5 to play? I never finished “Dragons Dogma 2” so id like to finish it on the portable (If its available) but i don’t have space rn because of Ghost Of Yotei, Boarderlands 4, GTA V and The Witcher 3
I wasnt going to get one and ended up getting the steam deck last year, but now with this update im probably going to pick one up today. Finally i can play games and my wife can watch whatever on the same tv in the living room.
Been playing Arc Raiders on my portal and its been awesome.
I'm glad I was patient and didn't get rid of my Portal like many people did, I liked my Portal before even though it was handicapped by Sony but now I love it, I just hope Sony keeps improving it and don't abandoned the project like they did with the PS Vita(which I also own).
Streaming from the console is still shit. Streaming directly from psplus works great however. Just played helldivers 2. It ran great plus i got to leave my console turned off
I still hate how a device that's pretty much 100% dependent on good internet shipped with only WiFi5. Good move in the right direction nonetheless.

Meanwhile in NZ, we still have no cloud streaming whatsoever and still no 3D support. I can understand the former, but WTF re the latter.
I’m having trouble once connecting to my PS5 on remote play . Every time try to play a game it’s telling me screen can’t connect to gameplay . It’s not letting me play my games

Not every game you "digitally own" is Cloud Stream compatible so this information is not correct.
Hahaaa everybody wants a portal now
I play on my portal 80% of time in bed . I travel for work and can only wake my ps5 up via phone hotspot no WiFi, streaming always worked no problem. I played are raider yesterday via streaming it worked great , but some of my games aren’t available yet like wildgate. Only thing that was disappointing was when you get a trophy is just pops up that you got a silver gold or bronze trophy not the name. Maybe that’s a setting thing. Great update!
If you buy a game physically, You should get a digital version for free!

If thats the case then what's the point of a new handheld? Sony could eventually update the servers with newer faster gpus then would able to stream ps6 games hell they could bring out another portal with a bigger screen either oled or ips screen and equipped with a better faster wifi

I was a bit shocked that it let me stream "Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience", which was delisted from the store awhile back. I seem to be able to stream 170 games out of 226 showing in my library. That includes disk-based games, though. I can't figure out how to exclude those.

This is total BS. It is NOT a game changer and you still need your PS5!!!!! Unless of course you don't mind and are happy shelling out the $18 per month or $160 a year to stream the games you already bought that are in your library! I could understand paying the outrageous subscription price to get free games, and to access games you don't own, like in the Microsoft Game Pass, but we should not have to pay a subscription price to stream our library of games we already own. I still need to be shackled to my PS5 to play my games for free.

I bought a portal and don’t own a PS5. I thought the Internet thing would hold me back but it actually didn’t the PS portal actually works well with My hotspot.
I’ve had my portal for a while now thought it would have this feature from buying it originally I still had fun with the updated games on the cloud over time as they added them but THIS made me fall in love all over again.
