This article contains some spoilers for the My Hero Academia series.
My Hero Academia, written by Kohei Horikoshi, is one of the most well-known modern anime series, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that it is one of the greatest anime of all time. Fans have, over the years, fallen in love with its incredible cast of characters and the story that Horikoshi has crafted. The manga concluded last year, sadly, and now the series’ final season, My Hero Academia Season 8, has officially begun airing. MHA Season 8 will conclude the series, and fans are both excited and sad to see it through.
My Hero Academia Season 8 has started off very strong, and it is expected to be 2025’s new best anime, surpassing the likes of Solo Leveling and Dandadan, and possibly even winning the title of Anime of the Year during the 2026 awards. My Hero Academia winning the award would be the perfect farewell from fans.
My Hero Academia Season 8 Finally Begins
- It Is One Of The Biggest Anime of 2025
- A Short But Intense Season Lies Ahead
My Hero Academia Season 8 finally started after long anticipation by fans of the series. The first episode just dropped on October 4, 2025, and it is safe to say that it didn’t disappoint. Fans are excited to see more intense action as the story unfolds, even though, sadly, this season will be a short one, consisting of just 12 episodes in total.
Nevertheless, this new season of My Hero Academia has shown that it will be a huge hit. The first episode of the season already has an insanely high rating of 9.2, and it’s not even going to be the best episode of the season, given what lies ahead in the manga, content-wise. The final battle between Deku and Shigaraki will be where the most excitement lies, and these episodes have the potential for near-perfect ratings.
It wouldn’t be surprising for the fans to see My Hero Academia’s final season becoming the highest-rated anime season of 2025, surpassing even The Apothecary Diaries Season 2, which currently reigns supreme at the very top. Only time can tell how things go for MHA Season 8.
Can My Hero Academia Season 8 Win Anime of the Year?
The Final Season Is Certainly Worthy Of This Title
Solo Leveling won the title of Anime of the Year in 2025 with its first season, and many fans believe it will win again with its second season in 2026. The competition will definitely be difficult this year, but if there’s one anime that should come out on top, it’s certainly My Hero Academia Season 8.
My Hero Academia’s final season is full of action and emotion and will deliver quality far better than Solo Leveling. Being the concluding point of such an iconic and beloved series, it would only make sense for it to be the winner during the 2026 Crunchyroll Awards.
The My Hero Academia manga concluded with 431 chapters for fans to read. All these chapters can be found on Manga Plus. When it comes to the anime, this series is still awaiting its final season, which will be released later this year. The series can be watched on Crunchyroll.
