The Witcher: Legacy Board Game Goes Live on Gamefound, Slaying its Funding Goal in Minutes

The crowdfunding project for The Witcher: Legacy board game has gone live. The latest tabletop adaptation of the Polish fantasy series, courtesy of Go On Board and CD Projekt Red, is a runaway success, fully hitting its funding goal in just four minutes.

The Witcher: Legacy Board Game Gamefound Campaign

As the campaign page states, The Witcher: Legacy board game is a story-driven cooperative experience. Players take on the role of Witchers after a devastating attack on their headquarters of Kaer Morhen. Your goal is to uncover the ones responsible, bring justice to the fallen, and slay any monsters that stand in your way. The game is built on the same gameplay foundation as The Witcher: Old World.

The campaign highlights the customization options in The Witcher: Legacy. Each playable character has a distinct look and a unique backstory. There are RPG-like skill trees, letting you invest in combat or social situations. There is even resource management for brewing potions, making bombs, and activating mutagens. A witcher needs every advantage during their hunt, after all.

There are only two pledge levels to The Witcher: Legacy board game campaign. One is for the standard edition of the game. This is a big box experience containing all the narrative books, tokens, cards, and game boards you’ll need to play. It will also include several Witcher miniatures, and monster tokens. The standard edition is available at an MSRP $128.80.

However, if you want that the richest experience, and if you have the storage for it, there is the Deluxe Edition. This version of the game includes a travel journal, 16 unpainted monster miniatures, a boss miniature, and 2 secret miniatures. The Deluxe Edition is available at an MSRP of $205.61.

No matter which version you back, you will also gain all unlocked stretch goals for The Witcher: Legacy board game. This includes new narrative scenarios, the introduction of witcher blade oils, new potions and bombs, and additional monsters with their own components and miniatures. Those monsters include the Rotfiend, Plague Maiden, Beann’she, and the Succubus.

At the time of writing, The Witcher: Legacy board game has completely dwarfed its initial funding goal. It has raised $3,167,437, obliterating its initial funding goal of $115,510. The campaign ends December 16 with the game expected to ship on June 2027.
