You’ve defeated Malenia, traversed the treacherous Haligtree, and become the Elden Lord. But before you shelve your controller and rest on your laurels, ask yourself this: have you truly seen all the Lands Between has to offer? Elden Ring is a game of boundless possibilities, and its true depth is revealed in the sheer power of its most optimised builds.
While your first playthrough might have been a valiant struggle, a second run with a truly overpowered character isn’t just a victory lap – it’s an entirely new experience. Forget the grind and the struggle; these builds will turn you into an unstoppable force, making you feel like a god among mortals.
Blasphemous Blade Faith Build

A self-sufficient blaze of fire and anger |
This build centres on the legendary Blasphemous Blade, a colossal greatsword with the unique skill Taker’s Flames. This skill is a game-changer, spewing a wave of fire that deals massive damage and, most importantly, heals you with every hit.
It’s the ultimate tool for both offence and defence. By focusing on Faith, Strength, and Vigor, you’ll be an unstoppable fire-spewing tank, able to clear entire groups of enemies and outlast bosses with ease. It’ll take some effort to get the blade, but it’s worth it.
Rivers Of Blood Bleed Build

Easy haemorrhaging |
While its reign as the undisputed king of PvP may have waned, the Rivers of Blood katana is still an absolute menace in PvE. Corpse Piler is a flurry of bloody slashes that inflict massive bleed buildup and lots of damage on its own, shredding through enemy health bars – especially against bosses who can be bled.
This build capitalises on a ton of bleeding, so pairing the katana with the White Mask helm and Lord of Blood’s Exultation talisman to maximise its damage output is the way to go. Both pieces of equipment will increase your damage when there’s bleeding nearby, even on enemies, so your damage will be through the roof.
Night Comet Sorcery Build

Some of the most satisfying boss battles in Souls history |
For those who prefer a more magical approach, the Night Comet build is all about staying at a safe distance and dishing out insane damage. The Night Comet sorcery is an incredibly potent spell that is hard for many enemies and bosses to dodge, though it does have a hefty 38 Intelligence requirement. You’ll need to be slinging pebbles until you reach this.
By wielding the Staff of Loss and stacking Intelligence, you become a long-range glass cannon, capable of deleting enemies before they even get close. Get your hands on a second Staff of Loss, though, and you become a weapon of mass disintegration.
Twinblade Status Build

A perfect storm of blood, poison, and victory |
Twinblades are a personal favourite of mine in Elden Ring, thanks to how elegant they are to use and how effective they slay enemies. This gets turned up to eleven when dual-wielding them and letting power stance fly.
By infusing one twinblade with a Poison Ash of War and the other with Seppuku, you create a perfect storm of debuffs. This build thrives on constant pressure and a flurry of jump attacks, which quickly stack both status effects and melt enemy health bars.
I’d personally recommend that you make one of your twinblades the Godskin Peeler. Black Flame Tornado is just too fun a weapon skill to pass up.
Pure Strength, Nothing But Strength, All Strength Build
Sometimes, the simplest approach can be the most effective. Equip a massive weapon like the Giant-Crusher or Greatsword, put on the heaviest armour you can find, and invest everything into Strength, Vigor, and Endurance.
The raw damage and stagger potential of these weapons is unmatched, turning you into an unstoppable force of nature. It might take some serious practice to get to grips with some bosses, but the retaliatory pain you can lay out in return is so, so satisfying.
Lightning Caster Build

An electric playstyle that makes you an agile assassin |
Combining the power of Faith with the speed of a Katana or Great Scythe creates a build that’s as fast as it is lethal. The Lightning Faith hybrid build leverages incantations like Lightning Spear and Honed Bolt for ranged damage, while also using the Electrify Armament incantation to coat your weapon in lightning.
The result is a highly mobile character that can deal both devastating close-range and long-range damage, perfect for any situation.
Frosty Sleep Build
|
Focus |
Alternative between Frostbite and Sleep |
|---|---|

Total control over battlefields |
This build revolves around the Sword of St. Trina for inflicting Sleep and a weapon with a Frost affinity (like a handy light sword with the Chilling Mist Ash of War) to trigger Frostbite. You can put enemies to sleep with St. Trina’s Sword, then land a critical hit while they’re vulnerable.
Afterwards, a few quick hits from your frost weapon will trigger Frostbite, dealing a burst of damage and making the enemy take more damage from subsequent hits. This constant cycle of debuffs gives you complete control over any battle and makes you feel incredibly powerful.
Sleep is useless against many of the game’s most difficult foes; this might be a build best suited to flexing your skills in PvP over PvE.
